Rumspringa no Joukei
i had to put this off back in february bc i know it would be too heavy for me at that time but i decided to read it today bc i wanna feel something lol.... and wow, did it not disappoint me.. this was such a beautiful story ! it's one of those mangas that will literally wrench your heart but also mend it later on, and it honestly had me sobbing sm.... this was like a coming of age story and i really liked how well-written this is. it talked about real-life situations and problems people go through and that it's okay to run away. it's okay to choose what you love and what you think is best for you. it's okay to not let other people's ideas and demands shape your life and instead, you can make and lead your own path in life. i specially loved the last part wherein it showed theo looking back at his younger self and coming into terms with the fact that it's time to let go of everything and start anew. overall, it was such a painful, mature, realistic, but also, heartfelt story :')
Kitaru Harekake no Ashita yo
the story is superb!! but i just wanna give appreciation to the mangaka and their art; i just love how they always have a way to bring to life every moment of the characters and every little things in the story. it's very descriptive in the sense that you're aware of all the things that is happening and can really feel everything like you're in the story, yourself. it truly brings more towards the story and made it so much more beautiful and exhilarating to read. it honestly feels like a warm hug for some reason... i just genuinely loved their love :') <3
Ameagari no Bokura ni Tsuite
wow.... i want more, oh my.... this was just an amazing read. i'm gonna try to keep this as short as possible >< ok, first of all, i really felt how realistic this was in every aspects. human emotions we feel— may it be good or bad, positive or negative. platonic and romantic relationships, and even family problems. the author really made sure to delve into different real life topics and experiences most people go through and feel. one of my fav scenes has to be the "don't hold it in" and the dam just finally breaking, it was just a good portrayal of those repressed feelings and i could definitely relate to that. feelings can be hard, yeah, but in order to understand your feelings, you shouldn't hold it in and instead let it out, and really, genuinely feel it... anyways, i'm so glad they found each other again and was able to both grow as individuals, and together. you're not responsible of saving others, but you are responsible of finding and saving your own happiness. remember that. re-read: 230816, still a realistic and very wholesome read :')
Country Diary
this was such a nice and relaxing story! it mostly revolved around how they lived in the countryside and i learned a bit about gardening and foraging too! it showed perseverance, friendships, and hard work! i don't think this is a bl but i i seriously just enjoyed this, it was very refreshing to read and just know more about how the mc adjusted after moving from the city to the countryside, how he became comfortable with his life there, and how he made friends with the people around him. this was just so wholesome <3
Lie Cry Like
this is beautiful. it had a nice pacing and the development between them went slow and steady which made their relationship so much more precious. it’s nice to see both of them have their well deserved healing through each other. :)
Everyday is a Good Day
ahhh this was really such a nice read. it was very wholesome and heartwarming. it was also touching to see all of them grow in their own ways. toki learned how to finally grieve and move on, and finally accept how things are now without being guilty and sad for what happened. toki’s parents for also accepting appi’s parents’s death and also being patient with appi. chihiro for learning that he isn’t alone and there are still those people who actually love him after his grandmother’s death, as well as him continuously loving toki for five years, i think that’s just very sweet :(.. and lastly, appi... for being so strong and patient despite only being a kid. i can’t imagine how he felt once he understood what happened :( but it was such a beautiful moment when we saw him also grow mainly through the help of toki, and also chihiro... it was also nice to see toki and chihiro’s relationship grow and develop. but all in all, i really just enjoyed the relationship between everyone as a family. it was very very heartwarming and this is definitely worth the read. :)
Chicken Heart Serenade
just two guys fighting for their own freedom and happiness together... i really loved how the author delved into the characters’s sexual orientations and how they feel about themselves. learning to accept who they really are, realizing that it’s okay to be gay, and living the way they deserve to is such a nice thing to see. it’s so sad to see them both being scared when they just wanted to love and be loved... so just seeing them rely on each other and be who they truly are, loving who they really want, being their own person, and being together really tugged at my heartstrings. this was such a nice portrayal of this topic. really loved it! re-read: 230610 :') <3
Umibe no Etranger
finally read this bc i've been wanting to watch the movie for so long haha loved their dynamics and it was just an easy read. this was very cute and wholesome.
Barefoot Angel
230207: i only have one word for this and that is— beautiful. 230604: found out that there's a volume 2 and I AM SEATED!!!
