It was very good. I really recommend it to people that like more mature and thought provoking manga such as Basara, 7 Seeds, and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles

Although this is another version for Macross Frontier, you can fully enjoy this story without needing to have watched the Macross Frontier anime or movie (all of which have different endings and pairings). I read Sheryl years before watching Macross Frontier and even now when I have read and watched all their media, I still think Sheryl was a great read and I prefer the Sheryl story with all the Sheryl X Alto moments over the MF anime and movie that aren't as romance oriented as Sheryl and that had Alto being indecisive in choosing between Ranka and Sheryl.

History? Five stars xD Putting my nerdiness for history aside, this story is gold to anyone that reads it. I LOVE stories with character growth and this is a perfect example of one of them. You can't help but appreciate how much Lin grows up and the big contrast between who she was at the start with who she is at end. It's beautiful. Also, Arthur and Lin make a good couple. Arthur is cool, snobby, and serious, and Lin is just your not so special, clumsy girl who's just trying to grow as a person. Their love is sweet and I love how Arthur falls for Lin first hahaha.

I'm a HUGE fan of dystopias and horror and this manga is a disappointment. The plot is interesting but it is overshadowed by the extremely bland characters, and by a poor execution which is dialogue driven. The first 30+ chapters are just dialogues between the characters to make them seem smart. Although it's an adventure story, there is barely any adventure and it's mostly skipped or fast forwarded along with any possible character growth. By chapter 120+, only two real arcs have finished with 50ish background characters with no personality, a handful of "main characters" with 0 character growth, no real adventure arc, and a goal that is not quite clear to the reader. It makes you wonder how this manga is one of the current top 5 shounen. For a proper horror dystopia, see Psycho Pass. For a story with real good "what is going on" kind of Mystery, see From the New World. For a story full of adventure in a world against humanity, see 7 Seeds.
