Easy paced love story between Ryuuta, an accountancy student, who spends his summers surfing and falling in love with Naoki, the owner of a small beachside pub where Ryuuta works. For Ryuuta, it's an unrequited love as Naoki is married, but there are personality problems between the Mister and Missus of which he is unaware until he discovers that Naoki has been abandoned. Now Ryuuta faces the difficult task of wooing a much older man with a painful past and a character that subconsciously armours himself against rejection. This is a lot to ask for a young man with relatively little life experience or wisdom. Instead, he must call upon a leap of faith. Unohana has crafted an interesting and insightful story with believable and entertaining side characters in a resort village setting far from urban distractions.

Takashi's confession to Hayate at high school graduation was rejected but tears moved Hayate to promise to meet up once a year, which they diligently do for Ten Freaking Years! Then Takashi decides to stop this stupidity by pretending he has a new lover, and Hayate gets drunk and asks him to choose him after all. Good thing they can't communicate honestly or there wouldn't be a plot.

Superrich heir, Akag,i is a regular Eeyore of a man, always rained on by his very own personal thundercloud, and he has no problem shoving away the one bright and sunny person in his existence, Ichimori, who loves him and protects him from dastardly villains who want to get him mixed up in their schemes. Akagi isn't falling for any bit of it. The question on my mind is how a likeable dude like Ichimori, who clearly thinks about others first, could fall for such a gormless wet blanket. Also, I know that romance writing holds a special place in its twisted little heart for the superrich, and I know that valid schemes for getting these Scroogie creeps to spread some of their hoard is better than trying to trick it out of them (for some reason), but in this day and age, wealth is looking more like supervillain material than a sympathy set up.

In the past, Chihiro, heir to the Saotome Yakuza, was kidnapped as his father was ambushed and murdered. After he was repeatedly gangraped and enslaved as a prostitute by the Russian mob, Chihiro was rescued by two hot bodyguards, Shirotae and Kuroba, who now, in addition to protection and enforcement, help him relieve the persistent "arousal problem" that was the apparent side effect of his abuse (really?) Anyhooo, Chihiro is now making a play on the "quality" gun trade, finds himself prone to fits of murderous rage, only to be reined in by the young hot leader of the Gojou group. Now that the Russian mafia has returned, it's a wonder how hometown gangster boy plans to make good on honouring Daddy's memory. Yup, that's where it's going for realsies. Kitazawa Kyou likes to craft a slightly unhinged cupcake yakuza always on the edge of a psychotic meltdown. The question isn't whether a reader can suspend disbelief. Obviously not. It's whether the story is any fun to read. I don't know. If it goes too James Cagney, it might be a twitching facial nerve too far.

Three friends reunite at a bar several months after graduating from high school, but two of the friends seem to share secrets and the third feels left out.

Sota and Koga's relationship didn't have an auspicious start. Sota dumped some used fishbowl water out the classroom window, inadvertantly soaking Koga and prompting the boy to make some rude remarks about his cat, who happened to sneak into Koga's house for the express purpose of killing his goldfish, a gift from someone he loved. Sota is a kindhearted boy, if not the most courageous fellow on the planet, and his attempts at atonement open some new possibilities for Koga, whose life has been more constricted than most, through no other fault than bad luck. This is a sweet and intelligent shounen ai which shows how life opens up when a person takes a few risks.
