Aozora no Sunda Iro wa
Sugiura Sakae returns as a teacher to the elementary school where, years before, Fukada Ryuuji, his own teacher, saved him from grave personal danger, but age and despair have taken their toll on Fukada-sensei, and Suguira has a difficult time reconciling the memory of the man who protected and inspired him, with the scruffy man whose laisser-faire attitude offends his sense of effort and accomplishment. Can anything be done to mend Fukada's crushed soul? This inspirational story is one of my favourites and cemented Tenzen Mamoko as one of the greatest yaoi mangakas ever! Just a beautiful realistic story.
Maigo no Kare to Kuma no Onegai
Magical world where the forest folk are all sweet and live in harmony with nature, whereas the townspeople are exploitive creeps who destroy everything they touch. Ronet is one of the townspeople, now, although he is hiding a secret past. One day he inadvertently rescues a magical creature and it asked him to take him to the forest where he must confront his tragic past. Like all of Kuju Siam's work, this is highly imaginative and interesting.
Lotus Eater
A simple story of how Kanda wins over Rihito who had repeatedly spurned his advances because he is bi, and to his way of thinking, may leave him in the future for a woman. What isn't so simple is how Kanda actually breaks through Rihito's resistance. Like most of Tenzen Momoko's stories, this one has a very pleasant, easy pace with many sparkly moments. Every time Rihito goes wide-eyed with surprise, a fairy is born.
Sweep!
On his way home from school one day, Horikita Mei rescues a cat in a tree and falls on top of the extremely near-sighted Akihiko, breaking his glasses. To compensate, Mei works at Akihiko's secondhand/recycle shop and starts to fall for the easy-going flirt, but Akihiko has a secret which Mei wants to learn, and Akihiko won't share it with him. Can Mei become the sort of person Akihiko can depend on?
Tsuki to Yabanjin
Cursed Prince Uriel of Lafarge goes on a secret adventure to the desert of Uma Ral, where an archeological excavation has discovered the site which may be the lost city of Rowadis. Uriel is captured by Ald, the war-prince of the nomadic Seldira clan who rule the Uma Ral, and as they cross the desert to the oasis of Rosa, his contempt for the arrogant young chief slowly changes after demonstrations of courage, self-sacrifice and sheer lustiness! A terrific romp.
Doubt (nishimura Shuuko)
At a geological survey for rare metals in an isolated mountain cabin, Misaki meets a Kousaka, the lover who went missing in an accident five years prior. Kousaka, who now calls himself Yanagida, does not remember him, and Misaki is being pressured by another man to forget him completely. Meanwhile, a spy is intent on stealing their surveys and rock samples, leading to a fine espionage thriller and action adventure story with yaoi benefits.
Shizuku Hanabira Ringo no Kaori
One of Kawaii Touko's light, sweet stories: sales license procurement officer, Haruna, tries to secure a contract with the dreaded and renowned Nakagawa Sake company, whose owner is so rude and ornery, he throws things at people he doesn't like. But his son is just Haruna's type. Haruna throws himself at the computer technician unreservedly, but Nakagawa has his own reasons for playing things cool, and he will not put up with betrayal. Will Haruna persuade him?
Hakuyou Ayakashi Gatari
Lovely art, interesting story. Hakuyou, a wolf demon, leaves the supernatural world, where he is treated like a repulsive freak for his silver hair, and embarks on a journey through the human world. There, he befriends journalist, Shouji, who gives him his name and shows him respect and kindness, but Hakuyou needs 'essence' to live and Shouji needs good stories ....
