I Thot You Was a Toad's manga / #teacher x student(15)

Most school-centered teacher x student pairings are not realistic. This is one which is. It takes a long time for the older man to warm up to his pupil, and the story explains each reason why very carefully.

Freaky school with a hierarchical class system based on glasses, and a teacher who won't wear them.

Umm... yeah. Sort of a roll-call of kink and fetishes from spanking with buttplugs to bondage with sounding, all based around a plot involving high school delinquency, inappropriate use of the nursing office, and an aggressive female colleague, all to a cringe-worthy pillow-talk soundtrack. The second chapter is an improvement, but I've seen better, and the fluids! You can't even see their bodies. Blech.

This is a surprisingly addictive story. Hero worship turns into love for a lonely boy and the substitute teacher who has been taking on delinquent gangs in their neighbourhood. Amazingly, it looks like this manga will actually address the issue of adults and minors.

This is a pure school-daze teacher x student fetish story, so admittedly, not my favourite genre. This one doesn't even take advantage of its own structure to develop some authenticity in the characters. The main disappointment was trying to figure out how or why the teacher fell for such a gormless kid. There's no chemistry. The plot is mostly based on the teacher committing some transgression and the student overreacting angrily and getting pinged with penalties for disrespect, throwing him back into company of same teacher. Peripheral threats come up, but are never developed. In the end, when the student is finally seduced, the story conflict flat-lines and the teacher comes across as a predator.
