couple of cutie pies 9.3 objectively but for me personally a 9.35/even a 9.4?

Well down and dirty sure does win the award for most obscene and plentiful dirty talk I’ve read in a BL so far. However, it also wins the award for most problematic love story/couple or at least the most toxic top. Ugh idk man, that was truly sickening from head to toe. I can’t lie and say some (“some”) of the dirty talk wasn’t hot…. because it really was, BUT the sex wasn’t hot to match which was ugh *rme*. So then aside from some hot dirty talk what else is there? A toxic top, a wildly naive and stupid bottom, a nasty ass plot that downplays the entire concept of sexual assault at every turn nook and cranny it gets, a plot with holes that leaves off entire main characters and pretends they were never a thing, etc..... In short, this was quite irredeemably upsetting. UPDATE: hi, I re-read this randomly and for no reason. the dirty talk in this isn't nearly as serious as I made it seem in the first review lol. But that's because that first review was made when my experience with BL's of this nature was still quite small. so I know the me of the past was like "woah :o" haha. Anyway, coming back because I see I didn't give it a rating the first time, so I'll do that now. I liked the characters well enough and the world and the story and the art and the length and all that, BUT... as I said in my original review, I can not deny that it was a relatively upsetting read. Like... the MC being tortured as a sex slave for 2 years while the love interest plots his comeback? Mmmm, we don't like that. Like damn, MC decides to fall in love for the first time in his life and put his trust in someone and this is the consequence he has to suffer? It's wildly intense and sad. Also.... I get that the love interest dude almost died or what-EVER, but..... you being alive at all means that MC shouldn't have had to be in that place under those circumstances for nearly as long as he was. Like... two YEARS? Nah, hell nah. Also, for you to not even be the one to get him out.... he had to get himself out? Ew, if I was him there's no way I'd ever take your dumb ass back. Fuck that; frankly I might even arrange to have you killed lol. Haha okay maybe I wouldn't take it that far, but I would certainly not welcome you back with open arms the way MC does after you ruined his life and completely broke him, body and soul...... but hey..... that's what the MC wants so I guess I just have to let that go.... still made for an upsetting read... I see the score is as high as it is because this the kind of story that a certain subset of you bitches be liking and I can tell from the comments, lol. for me though, i'm giving this a 9.0 (and only that high because I'd be lying if I said I didn't find it enjoyable at all)

Stop. Hold the fucking phone. Why the hell is this a 9.2 while the likes of Raion Gotoki no Kuni Kara is a whole 9.5?!?!?!?! What the hell? Ugh, whatever. That aside, this was a 9.4 for me dawg. U fucking WU bro. MAN this was so frickin cute. I’ve got one word to describe this BL: “KYAAAAA!”

This is my second time reading this story. I didn’t end up writing a review the first time I read it, so I just read it again. Let’s get into pros and cons. Pros: The writing - it was simple and clean and mature. It was good, above average. Nothing to write home about by any means, but def good enough to return to one day for examination. Dealt with some heavy themes and did so well. Gotta give props where they are due, you know? The art - The art is very nice. It’s simple, it’s clean, it somehow gave a refreshing feeling? Idk. More than just the art being nice, the way the art is done makes the couple look very hot and ~some~ of the sex scenes look very sexy! The length - a fully fleshed out story in only 45 chapters (+3 side stories to round it out)?! Yeah, y’all know I love that shit. Mhmm, talk about keeping it concise, no extra fat to trim or nothin. Cons: Hella rape vibes all over - The author was sups heavy handed with it to. The bottom is constantly saying no in sex and the top is never listening. And not in a “I’m saying no but it’s implied the answer is yes” kind of way. Nah, not like that at all. But in a super “I’m saying no and I am giving you no reason to believe I actually mean yes” kind of way, ya know? The top even has a dream of raping the bottom and for what? Like, author-nim…. please. Why ruin a decent story with this shit? Too much sex - To make the rape stuff worse, there is sex just about everything other chapter. Literally at LEAST half of the chapters are sex. If the sec wasn’t all rapey I still would mind tbh, but with it being rapey I more than just “mind”. It got to be pretty uncomfy pretty quick. Okay, so that’s pretty much all I’ve got so far as a review goes. There’s not much else to say. The writing was good and interesting enough to make me return to this story one day for inspiration purposes. The rapey-ness of it all was bad enough to not only make me not want to give this an honorable mention, but also enough to make me lower the score I give this significantly. This gets a 9.15.

In the first half I fucking could not stand MC. Like ew. He did horrible ratchet things. I guess things really switched up in the second half of the manga, so I changed my views sliiiiiiighlty but not much. The way DJ was drawn in the first half.... was NOT my cup of tea. But in the second half they started drawing him to look way more cute and a lil loveable :). Alex/Jinwoo remained hot throughout lol . DJ and Jinwoo are soooo ridiculously far from my fav couple in BL; I think they’re really close to the bottom of the list- if such a list for me existed. They just, ugh I don’t hate hate them, bu TV I don’t completely approve. Till this moment, I still don’t think there was any believably healthy reason for Jinwoo to fall in love with DJ the way he did. It just looked like a bundle of trauma and insecurity being mistaken for love.... y!kes. I still think DJ IS entitled and unreasonable af, and they might have tried to make him less of a annoying character in the seconds half, but that does NOT mean I forgot who he was in the first half. Same goes for Jinwoo. I get it, you are treating him nicely because you love him now (or at least you THINK you love him
