Sensei, Anata ni Chikadukitai

Complete | Yoshi,yoshi | 2016 released

2.5 stars. Typical, boring, and with a rapey start. Not awful, just mediocre.

Uso To Kiss

Complete | Minase Masara | 2005 released

I actually really enjoyed this. The drawings are expressive; the plot has enough twists to be interesting, as well as being somewhat realistic; the characters are likeable, especially little sweetie Haru, (and it's rare for me to like the uke in a manga, especially if they look 'girlish'); and the dilemma faced by the mcs is a truly heartbreaking one. I would reread this, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of Minase Sensei's work. It's marked as completed, but it seems unfinished, so I've put it as currently reading just in case there's an update. So for future reference, I've read up to and including Vol. 01, Ch. 07, p09.

Because of the huge age gap, I'm thinking this might feel icky, but they don't get together until he's grown up so thank fuck for that!

Teruteru Bouzu Tere Bouzu

Complete | YUKUE Moegi | 2015 released

3.5 stars. Sweet and funny, and the h was hot, too, although there wasn't enough of it. I'm honestly kinda repulsed by bald heads, so I was surprised by how quickly I became engrossed in the story and wanted to keep reading, (even if the whole way through I was hoping he'd quit being a priest and grow back his hair lol). I think the mangaka and editors were pretty brave for putting a bald mc in a yaoi, (where, let's face it, looks are important)!

2.5 stars. I like the scenario, but the way it's written and drawn feels really stilted and disjointed. Maybe sensei was going for a pared down, artsy feel, like flicking through some black & white photos or something, but imho she didn't really pull it off. Either that, or she was in a mega rush to meet the deadline and created it in 10 mins flat. Either way, it ended up feeling like just the bare bones of a story. As a result, as much as I like the scenario, (and also the little twist at the end), I couldn't really get into this. Minase Masara Sensei can do better.

Ore no Oniku-chan

Complete | Mochino Kome | 2000 released

Plays with several of the usual character types, plot lines & tropes of the genre, but putting a fresh, original spin on them. Has a slightly dark undercurrent, nicely balanced with comedic elements. Nice art, too! The antagonist ex bf is hot af with those piercings - yum!
