tsukineko's manga / #childhood friends(233)

Sky Link

Complete | YAMADA Shiro | 2000 released

The pacing was off, and it seemed as though there were scenes missing, the eyes sometimes seemed weird, the way they were drawn, and there wasn't enough character development, nor relationship development. In the first story, one minute the uke hates the seme, then they suddenly kiss, and then they jump straight to anal. Despite all the holes I just picked in this manga, I don't hate it. (Maybe because I also have a deep connection to the sky.) I just think that it had the potential to be so much more. One other little thing: Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see a translator's note when, (in the second story), the seme talks about loving 'snow'. Imho, there should have been a note about the fact that snow in Japanese is 'yuki', which is the name of the uke, so it's a play on words.

For a nice trip down memory lane?

Kiss Blue

Complete | Kinoshita Keiko | 2006 released

Thanks for the memories? Fufufu Edit: Oh wow! I just read 1 of the stories, (chapter 5 I think), and it freaking tore my heart out and stomped on it! It actually made me ugly cry! Urgh! So depressingly realistic and bittersweet, (mostly bitter). I MUST read the whole manga!

Tsuzuki wa Mata Yoru ni

Ongoing | Chiba Ryouko | 2000 released

Dounimo Nannai Soushi Souai

Complete | yamada papiko | 2000 released

Ok I guess. Not the usual yaoi fare, so it was refreshing, but just not my cup of tea. I think it would have worked better as an anime. The gags needed a really rapid-fire delivery, which is not the case when reading. The toilet humour parts grossed me out. Who would eat someone elses bogies?! *pukes* Also, the translation was a bit off in places.

Karasu To Kuma Soshite Sakana

Ongoing | kuroiwa chihaya | 2015 released

I've only read the first story, as that's all that's up so far. It was ok. Nothing special, story-wise, but I quite liked the art.
