After his parents died in a carriage accident a letter arrives at the mansion, but the maid burns it. Many years later he has become a figurehead instead of the master of the mansion. He is isolated and has no say in his life, but when he hears he has been continuously sent letters form the original letter sender he decides to head out and meet him.
The story was slowly paced and very predictable. I found it boring to read.
