Blood Link
This is such a beloved and long-running BL about love between a vampire and a lycan. I can't believe it's over after so long, part of me felt like it would go on forever, and it will be missed! ***Spoiler thoughts*** Unlike many other stories from this author, this one has a distinctly "happy go lucky" feel. It ends in a very positive way and every character gets their happy ending. But there is some depth, particularly when confronting the reality of eternity. Making the decision to live with someone forever means watching everyone you love die around you. That was very emotional and well done, particularly because the author aloud that plot thread room to breathe. The only thing I wasn't totally a fan of was the Mpreg/babies. In general, I hate babies and children. And I wasn't expecting this supernatural story about vampires to result in male pregnancy, so I was originally disappointed by that. But it ended up being addressed in a mature manner and led us to the second generation which was fun to see. In some ways, it was bittersweet because we are already able to see the ramifications of the original couple's decision to remain immortal because by the time the second storyline starts up they look the same age as their son, and have to act and talk like they are siblings as opposed to parents. I only wish more time was spent with Ino the werewolf, his character design was super cool and I wish he could have lived forever with his vampire hubby.
