I'm finding I have a love/hate relationship with this author. The story is fine, the pacing feels fast, but within that fast pace you do get a story. You get enough information that you don't feel like you're missing half the story and you're already on chapter 5. But with this story in particular the only 2 bits that actually bothered me were how it felt like the author tried to make you sympathize with the ex as well as the conflict that follows after that. I'm so/so about using the place where Haru and his ex met as Mitsuharu misunderstanding of their situation and trying to be a hero, but I think the way how it was done bothered me more. I wanted the conflict to be on the level of that scene at the end of chapter 1. I felt like the ex wasn't as much of a force as I thought he would be. Everything happened too easily for the emotional tone I kept feeling throughout the story that died because nothing came out of it. I did like this more than Hana Tokidoki Kuma for the most part as well as loving "moments" they draw when a character is genuinely smiling. I've talked about it in Hana Tokidoki Kuma, but it's like you can see the light rays through the page and it's my favorite thing about their art.

Oooooh my god, I've finally finished this damn book after 7 thousand years. I am so in between about this story. On one hand, it has its moments, stuff like the hurt/comfort bits between Ryou and Yuuichi, Ayumu and Yuuichi learning how to be more open and honest with each other after their family's death, and Ryou seeing himself in Ayumu and wanting to help make sure he doesn't grow up like him. BUT the same dumb, annoying ass tropes rear the heads and, I think it's the reason why I kept putting off this manga. Misunderstandings everywhere between Ryou & Yuuicihi and Yuuichi and Ayumu. No communication until the end. Possessive lover trope. Hate that. People are allowed to have friends. People are allowed to talk to other people. There was nothing about Yuuichi's and the other lady's (I forgot her name) body language when they were talking that gave off any fucking impression of anything. But I guess we need conflict, am I right boys? There's was also Ayumu and Ryou "fighting" Yuuichi which I also headed. I guess with Ayumu you could say he's a kid and Yuuichi's his uncle and father figure now. He doesn't want to lose that attention since he'd feel like that would be yet another person in his family he's lost. I can see that. But why the fuck is Ryou not leveling with Ayumu about how Yuuichi's love for him won't ever change, and instead, fucking rivals that shit? It's harmless but still annoying by the end of the manga. I was really hoping to like this more than I ended up liking it because of these tropes that I wish would die.

Story 1: What? Story 2: What the fuck? I really like the atmosphere but the poor explanation and comprehension of what was going on left me so confused. The side story, I just didn't really like one that at all.

A very slow start for me, I was getting bored up until chapter 3. Them fighting and the aftermath of Shuu realizing actually had me invested. I would honestly like a 2nd book about them being together.
