Akihabara Fall In Love

Complete | kashima chiaki | 2014 released

Kimi Towa Gokai Kara Hajimarimashitaga

Complete | Mishima kazuhiko | 2019 released

I thought that was pretty cute. A little unsure because I see that "misunderstanding" tag and I really hate dumb stuff like that where the conflict is caused by non-communication. But this was fine, if not very predictable. I wasn't really attached to the characters themselves but they didn't completely make me mad. The only thing I kinda was like "ugh" about was Hifumi's possessive lover personality. Thank God it wasn't as bad as I've seen almost every BL do, but the way he acted about Mike's hair bring up and how friendly he was with his FRIEND... Please stop this.

S to N

Ongoing | Nagisa Furuya | 2000 released

What in the God damn did I just read? I had a feeling that S&N would be at the bottom of my list but I didn't know that it would piss me off this much. I trusted you, Nagisa. Update: ... Why did I trust Nagisa? I've only really liked 2 books from her and one of them was above "fine" and the other was average at best. Everything else was either the worst version of what we already wrote or pissed me off to hell and back.

Hinadori wa Shiokaze ni Madoromu

Complete | MINADUKI Yuu | 2018 released

Oooooh my god, I've finally finished this damn book after 7 thousand years. I am so in between about this story. On one hand, it has its moments, stuff like the hurt/comfort bits between Ryou and Yuuichi, Ayumu and Yuuichi learning how to be more open and honest with each other after their family's death, and Ryou seeing himself in Ayumu and wanting to help make sure he doesn't grow up like him. BUT the same dumb, annoying ass tropes rear the heads and, I think it's the reason why I kept putting off this manga. Misunderstandings everywhere between Ryou & Yuuicihi and Yuuichi and Ayumu. No communication until the end. Possessive lover trope. Hate that. People are allowed to have friends. People are allowed to talk to other people. There was nothing about Yuuichi's and the other lady's (I forgot her name) body language when they were talking that gave off any fucking impression of anything. But I guess we need conflict, am I right boys? There's was also Ayumu and Ryou "fighting" Yuuichi which I also headed. I guess with Ayumu you could say he's a kid and Yuuichi's his uncle and father figure now. He doesn't want to lose that attention since he'd feel like that would be yet another person in his family he's lost. I can see that. But why the fuck is Ryou not leveling with Ayumu about how Yuuichi's love for him won't ever change, and instead, fucking rivals that shit? It's harmless but still annoying by the end of the manga. I was really hoping to like this more than I ended up liking it because of these tropes that I wish would die.

I am so disappointed. I don't think this was bad, I just felt like it was rushed in its storytelling. By the time I got to the extra chapter about taking a summer vacation, it dawned on me that I was at the end of the book. Nothing really happened and it felt like I should've still been on chapter 3. Like, I jumped into this thinking I was gonna read something adorable, sad, and a bit bittersweet with some kind of slow burn showing these two friends trying to get to know each other and be friends again after not seeing each other for so long while also trying to be a couple. There were some stuff like how Outa expressed to Tomoaki that he wanted to open up about what he's feeling more so that they can get on the same page. This is brought up twice and in both instances where I thought we were going to get more character development, nothing happened. Both of these characters didn't really mean anything to me by the end of it, I found myself getting angry at even the smallest of dumb BL tropes. Man, I really wanted to like this because this is my time of story but the rushed storytelling really got to me.
