Dokidoki Renai
This is the sequel to New Beginnings that, honestly, I would have rather not read. I definitely didn't feel the love translated from the first to the second from Keigo, who was the one to initialize the romance to begin with. Chihiro definitely got the shit end of the stick in this, however he is at fault here as well. The only one who didn't incur my ire is the sister. Well, and the mom. Keigo knows that Okezawa likes him and he knows that Chihiro is jealous and angry. What does he do with this information? He continues to hang out with Okezawa. He even knew that Okezawa said something that hurt Chihiro, but he ignores it until it comes to a breaking point and FINALLY confronts the guy and turns him down. Which he should have done from the start. And the fact that Okezawa knows about their relationship, yet continues to go after Keigo (and tell Chihiro that he's not worthy of Keigo when he knows nothing about either of them) really pisses me off. People like that should be punched in the throat. Grr. And what was Okezawa even doing in the beginning - scouting for a boyfriend? So he sees a couple and decides to split them up by going after one of them? For what - shits and giggles? I know it wasn't love at first sight, asshole. Chihiro is getting a scolding too, because I have seen him stand up for himself and he just laid there and took Okezawa's shit. He should have talked to Keigo about his insecurities as well, instead of listening to that dick. Gah. All three guys are getting a whoopin'. And they won't enjoy a second of it. >:(
Royal Fiancé
Didn't care for this one. Kairi is (essentially) conned into being a "housekeeper" but when he gets there, it turns out that he's been engaged to a prince. The engagement payment has been used for Kairi's sick aunt to get treatment so Kairi can't leave the situation. Shuu believes that Kairi has been trying to seduce him in order to get money and almost rapes him once - going so far as to ask how many guys have had sex with Kairi - who is a virgin who hadn't even had his first kiss yet (which Shuu forcefully stole, btw). Shuu is a dick. He constantly believes the worst in Kairi (which, yeah, I saw where he'd had a tough time trusting people due to his childhood), almost rapes him, actually rapes him (on their wedding night), is extremely jealous for no reason at all, and he refuses to listen to Kairi.. The whole "plot" is an arranged marriage and Kairi needs to fulfill his "wifely" duties. They proclaim their love for one another after an assassination attempt when they haven't even had a conversation. Shuu can clearly see (after all is said and done) that Kairi is a good person but why does Kairi love Shuu? *sigh* I didn't feel a thing other than frustration while reading this.
Moujuu School Days
*sigh* Shinaka is constantly being molested for having a sexy body. One day, Jin takes notice and decides he'll "protect" Shinaka in exchange for sex. Shinaka refuses, but Jin doesn't listen and does what he wants anyway. Shinaka grows to like Jin (for some reason) but as things are finally getting to actual romance and not rape-y groping (only on Jin's part) Jin pulls away "for Shinaka's sake" but he doesn't tell Shinaka that so the poor boy believes that Jin hates him. After some time, they get together. The end. Blah.
