for an anime that got quite a bit of attention on release, imo it’s a basic cookie cutter story… seen this been done a million times before— just don’t get the hype

watched the anime (both seasons) way back when and there’s no fucking way anybody is telling me mika and yu are “family” — nobody acts like that with family. they are gay asf; this otherworldly benevolent bible origin story is throwing me off though, like are vampires really descended from angels in this?

really conflicted in whether this is a drama or slice of life; watched the anime awhile ago, thought it was cute— the second couple bored me, and honestly lowkey disappointed with how they handled the main couple in the manga. thought there would be actual stakes but everything is pretty much wtv

himmel being mentioned in every chapter is so real bc his love for frieren stood the test of time, it’s just sad that she realized it too late; the anime is just as good and really does the fight scenes justice — currently watching edits and there’s not enough hype, it’s so underrated; this is a personal preference but would’ve like to see more himmel x frieren moments considering they met again ???

peak mafia manga, he’s obsessed with her, and he kills people what more could you want in a man?

nike and levi were so underrated as a couple, yes age gap was a little odd, but comparatively, most age gaps are with the girl being younger so this was kinda refreshing ngl — pretty sure it was the first manga that was enjoyable after watching the anime and the arcs weren’t too shabby either

it’s so basic.. sorry it’s good if you want another shounen ai but is literally all sunshine and rainbows nothing happens
