If I'd read the tags I probably wouldn't have read this story. I don't exactly regret it, but there's a reason for my 3 star rating. I did like it, but there were a bunch of issues that hindered my enjoyment and a bunch of elements that enhanced it. I equally loved and hated the fact this story was a bee's dick away from being yaoi. What a damn shame, cause the build up was hot af. The met-in-childhood romance was pretty good and for once didn't include that "I thought he was a girl!" crap. I'm sad Mc's body's gone cause frankly I prefer him as he was and not as he is reincarnated. There was a bunch of stuff I would have liked expanded and touched upon. Like MC's new parents, who are there at the beginning being all loving and welcoming to a child who's never experienced that in his broken home, and then they never show up again. Mc never tells them when he's spending the night somewhere else (that we see) and they don't react in any way to their amnesiac (completely different person!) son suddenly spending time who knows where and having significant trouble with school work. We can draw our own conclusions of course, through speculation, but we don't get answers. The parents never make a reappearance in the story. Which would have been fine if it was even implied that they were still around. Also mc's really bad in school to the point the teacher decides mr smart student should tutor him rather than calling the rich-ass-parents to get this boy a proper tutor?? Or into some special school/cram school for catching up on shit??? Like mc really wanted to avoid his love interes! He seriously could have easily just just gone, "oh yeah, I'm rich af, fuck this shit, imma get my parents to get me the best tutor money can buy!" There was enough mystery with what happened when they were kids, I really didn't like the plot turn where suddenly a mastermind needed finding that orchestrated Siwon's suicide. Really could have left it at being excessively bullied by ass holes at school, and that would have been enough. Also the fucking communication issues between the main couple was almost rage-quit inducing. Thankfully they weren't enough to get me to rage-quit this manhwa, but yeah. Was also turned off by the translator fawning over ML at the beginning where he was at his most unlikable. The guy has a horrendous personality and letting the plot progress in such a way where we see him beat our MC left a bad taste in my mouth for a good while. Also the "all according to keikaku" thing at a few plot beats towards the end just pissed me off. We see Mc struggle and be emotional and everything, but we barely get anything from the ML and it just takes away from the triumph of them finally getting together. All in all despite all my hang ups I'd recommend this as something to read, mostly due to MC being who he is. A good boy. Pretty much everyone else is trash sadly, which is sad cause none of them really go over to delightfully trash to me, just trash. (ಠ ∩ಠ) At least this story's better than the author's other work Mad Dog! lol

I’m a Villainess, Can I Die?

Ongoing | hi my dear | 2019 released

Content Warning: This story contains suicide, suicidal thoughts, attempted suicide. Ok, I like this story. I like the characters, I like what it's going for. Girl leads a shit life, her sister dies, and girl looses all reason for being, so she kills herself. She reincarnates and wakes up in another world in another person's body. It's an interesting take, although there are some other stories that have been similar. However this is also a deeply flawed story. Girl's adoptive parents are cartoon characters, the lead up to her first suicide is... lacking. Serious subjects should be handled in series stories, and handled with care. This story, is ambitious, and as I said, I do like it, but it does not handle this subject with care. The characters are not 3 dimensional, Aiden pretty much only lives for Selena. Lucas has more of a personality and a little more interesting, not to mention Selena's family who just have... no personality. Still, I love this story though. Love Aiden, even though Lucas is the one with an actual personality, and I like Selena too. Would recommend this story, with the reminder that it's not all that realistic and understandably is not for everyone. One thing I didn't like SPOILER When Mc meets her sister and learns that Selena was one of her past lives and that she really was Selena all along. I don't like that. It's too neatly solved then. I would rather her sister beg her to live or something else happen, but not Oh look! I was the Selena all along! It just feels trite.
