Behind The desk
This was so, so, so bad. If you wanted to know how to not write BL, this would be a good example. There's plenty of sex scenes, but they're all really boring and just there for fanservice. There's no chemistry between the two males, and Sunny is a wimp. There's no conflict or major hurdle that they need to overcome. The ex-lover wasn't even a small rock in their path to love, he didn't even do much to get in the way of their relationship. When characters don't need to go through hardships to get what they want in life, it's just bad writing because they'll never grow. Art is average. When Sunny said he was quitting his stable job to be a children's book author, I almost threw my phone away. And he had to go to university to take classes for it. Seriously, what the heck? That's not even a real profession. I just can't take this seriously after that. Avoid at all costs.
A Week of Lust
It's a yaoi anthology, so it's written and illustrated by different people. The art differences between stories is super jarring, since some art is good and some art is just terrible. I didn't care for any of the stories that were in this collection. It was just typical BL trash.
Rain Curtain
It has lots of sex scenes, and it gets boring after a while. The art is really good, except I don't like how the artist overly emphasizes the nipples through clothing, it's disgusting to me. Do women even wear bras or underclothes at all? I did like how the tables were turned in the end, where the female lead dominates her abuser, but it came out of nowhere and was poorly developed. It had potential to be better. I gave it an extra star for the nice art.
Brawling Go
It was decent until the male lead met a priestess which sealed up his sexual energy, and then it went completely downhill. It made no sense for the old man of the Penis Rock to be the ultimate villain of this webtoon. Also, I disliked the pairing of the male and female leads, I thought they were the most vanilla pairing out of all the possible pairings that existed... Sigh. Not worth reading to the end.
Hogu Hagyeongsu
Very good dark BL, comparable to Killing Stalking. Art is really good, and the plot is overall well-paced. It has lots of mature themes, so may not be right for everyone. This webtoon is the closest to Killing Stalking in terms of dark BL genre, although Killing Stalking is still superior.
Unfather
The art is so-so, the protagonist is well drawn and beautiful, but everyone else is average or ugly. The plot is dark, but not as dark as I would have liked. None of the characters are likeable and they're all twisted, which I liked about this webtoon. It's hard to sympathize with any of these characters, and it wasn't surprising that they all ended up unhappy and trapped in their futures.
Obey Me
It's quite dark, a BL in the same vein as Killing Stalking. Personally, it's not as dark as I would have liked though. I think the plot is a little weird in pacing and there are some gaps in the story, but it was overall a good read. I'm not surprised at all at the ending.
Private Scandal
Ehhhhh... One of the more decent BLs that I have read so far, but not by very much. It gets an extra star for actually trying to develop some semblance of plot instead of random smut every chapter. However, it's very slowly paced, and I'm getting bored of it, since nothing really happens. You don't really learn something new about the characters as each chapter progresses, so it's wasteful to me. I think more time could be spent developing the main cast, so you'd understand their motivations, but still, at least they tried a little bit. The male lead is an unapologetic tsundere and drives me nuts, he's extremely unlikeable and rude to everyone, including his love interest. There's no explanation as to why he does this, or his internal thoughts or conflicts, so you cannot sympathize with him, even when other characters are treating him poorly. Basically, he's getting what he deserves. Since he treats everyone like trash, he gets treated like trash in return. I don't see what the other male lead (love interest) even sees in him. The art is so inconsistent. It is very good sometimes, and then awful all the other times, super jarring to read. It should be of consistent quality throughout to make it easier on the eyes. I don't find any of the characters to be handsome/beautiful, they're all just average.
