The Devil King's Sonata

Mediocre webtoon. The author tries to make a strong female protagonist, but fails miserably since she still relies too much on the Lucifer/Baal male love interest, and always needs his help. As a strong female character, you need to be independent and stand up for yourself. That concept quickly got thrown out the window. And I don't know why it's heading towards smut territory, that came out of nowhere. None of the characters are likeable and I don't care what happens to them.

Okuru Kotoba

The premise was interesting, but the subsequent chapters failed to deliver. I'm not sure what kind of story the author wanted to tell. I thought the ghost of the male lead who died was going to be the protagonist, but then it suddenly shifts to another female character that used to be his friend, then shifts to the female character that killed him. Very confusing. Also it seems that this manga was dropped, so we'll never know what will happen next.

Angel Game

Complete | Haruhara Robinson,Machida Toshiko | 2000 released

It was very dark and tense for most of the story, but then the plot twist about aliens playing this game for fun came out of nowhere, and it just lost all the depth and somberness of everything that came before it. It's also hard to feel for these characters, since they're so two-dimensional. I didn't care whether they survived or not.

Tennis Club's Aphrodisiac Threesome Affair

They want you to think it has something to do with tennis, but it has nothing to do with tennis. It's just shameless smut without any plot or set up. I don't even know who any of the characters are. Even the smut isn't drawn in a sexy way. Pass.

A collection of short stories, with one main story about a girl with hypnosis powers, and two side stories that are largely irrelevant. The main story is rather dull, and I'm annoyed that the girl calls herself a psychiatrist. You know you need training and a license to practice psychiatry, right? Just because your father is a psychiatrist and you have hypnosis powers, doesn't qualify you as a psychiatrist too. That really bugged me since that just makes light of a serious life profession. Not to mention she only uses her hypnosis powers a total of three times only, and not well either. The other two side stories were so bad, I have no idea what happened after I read it. I don't know who any of the characters are, or why they like each other, or what. It was just a bad collection of bad stories. Shame, since the art was quite good for the first main story. The last side story had the worst art, and I can tell it was one of the author's earlier works.

The Iceblade Magician Rules Over The World

Oh my god, this manga is really not good. In terms of both the art and the story. The art is horrendous, all the people look like some poorly drawn cartoon characters, and they're neither cute nor beautiful to look at. The plot is some weird crossover of Harry Potter x Boku no Hero Academia, where the protagonist is OP but he needs to act like he sucks at magic to pose as an ordinary student at the magic academy. It's not even done in a fun or interesting way, since all the characters are super ugly and stupid and common tropes of things you expect to see in a typical shounen manga. And wow, it turns out that the only teacher in the school introduced so far is an arbitrary bad guy, who's shown to be super strong, but then gets trounced in 1 second flat by the male lead because he's so OP.

I Stack Experience Through Writing Books

Holy crap, this webtoon is one of the worst ones I've read so far. Not only is the art super bad, so is everything else. I don't understand how his power really works, besides that he gets some arbitrary points for recording his experiences and he can use them to exchange for knowledge or skills? The male lead has no personality, and he's a perfect character who can literally do everything perfectly since he got the skills from the book exchange. There is no conflict and each chapter is dedicated to showing off how supposedly good he is at everything. But my main problem here is how the artist is terribly bad at their job in trying to depict it. Like he's supposed to be a master calligrapher, but the so-called masterpiece calligraphy he writes are laughably bad. I was almost mentally crying with frustration from looking at the chicken scratch calligraphy that grown men were clamoring over and saying it will cost millions of won. Like seriously? And then he got the experience of cooking and oh lord, the webtoon went even more downhill from there. There's lots of drawings of panels where they're eating to show his food expertise, and the artist of this webtoon cannot draw appealing food worth a shit, since all the food looks like blobs of different colors, then you have the characters gushing over how delicious and appetizing the food is. I think I lost some brain cells...Not to mention, despite the so-called expertise of the main character, the author clearly did no research and just randomly spouts ridiculous stuff using their characters which make absolutely no sense, like how pork is easier to eat than beef and how sweet potatoes work with tteokbokki. I can't even. And the male lead is also a Michaelangelo, so he's a master painter too, and he paints awful drawings that once again, everyone praises him to death over. Please pass this webtoon, it is a travesty. Update: Completed at 150 chapters.

Fake Sister Webtoon

Ongoing | 鸥八八 | 2019 released

The art is very nice, it's not beautiful, but the style is appealing to look at and easy on the eyes. The brother character is love with his not blood-related "sister", who is really his caretaker. He lost his mother at a young age and his father is too busy to take care of him, so she had been his guardian until he reached 18. It's very short, so it's difficult to judge how good this webtoon will be.

It’s Neither Windy or Rainy, and nor Is It Clear

The art style of this webtoon is quite good, but I don't like the characters's looks too much. It seems decent so far, but still early to tell. A school girl meets a jerk schoolmate, and they'll probably fall in love, according to the prologue. Simple romance story, I think.

Don't Call Me Lady!

The translation is a little off sometimes, it needs a better proofreader. It's mostly understandable, but I feel the urge to fix the grammar in my head as I read. Sometimes it doesn't make too much sense, but the plot is a little weird right now. I don't know if her family is alive, she mentioned her grandmother is dead, but there's no other signs of her relatives. She's only 18 so is she living by herself? Who runs the incense shop when she's at school? This confuses me. Also bullying is not ok for any situation, especially at school. It's a common trope to bully the person you like, but that's just stupid to do in real life, and I wish people will stop accepting this as normal behavior. The art is alright, pretty acceptable on webtoon standards.
