Obey Me
It's quite dark, a BL in the same vein as Killing Stalking. Personally, it's not as dark as I would have liked though. I think the plot is a little weird in pacing and there are some gaps in the story, but it was overall a good read. I'm not surprised at all at the ending.
Killing Stalking
Classic dark BL, it's very well written and the art is gorgeous. It deals with a lot of mature themes, so may not be appropriate for people who don't like this kind of material. Ending was tragic, but made sense as none of these characters deserved a happy ending.
Okuru Kotoba
The premise was interesting, but the subsequent chapters failed to deliver. I'm not sure what kind of story the author wanted to tell. I thought the ghost of the male lead who died was going to be the protagonist, but then it suddenly shifts to another female character that used to be his friend, then shifts to the female character that killed him. Very confusing. Also it seems that this manga was dropped, so we'll never know what will happen next.
Private Scandal
Ehhhhh... One of the more decent BLs that I have read so far, but not by very much. It gets an extra star for actually trying to develop some semblance of plot instead of random smut every chapter. However, it's very slowly paced, and I'm getting bored of it, since nothing really happens. You don't really learn something new about the characters as each chapter progresses, so it's wasteful to me. I think more time could be spent developing the main cast, so you'd understand their motivations, but still, at least they tried a little bit. The male lead is an unapologetic tsundere and drives me nuts, he's extremely unlikeable and rude to everyone, including his love interest. There's no explanation as to why he does this, or his internal thoughts or conflicts, so you cannot sympathize with him, even when other characters are treating him poorly. Basically, he's getting what he deserves. Since he treats everyone like trash, he gets treated like trash in return. I don't see what the other male lead (love interest) even sees in him. The art is so inconsistent. It is very good sometimes, and then awful all the other times, super jarring to read. It should be of consistent quality throughout to make it easier on the eyes. I don't find any of the characters to be handsome/beautiful, they're all just average.
The Terminally Ill Side Character Inside of a Martial Arts Novel
Promotional one shot for a web novel, I believe? The cover art is beautiful, but the actual art in the webtoon is average. It doesn't really make me interested to read the novel, since if you're terminally ill, you're going to die regardless of what path you decide to choose. Also, just finishing the male love interest's sentence automatically made him like her? Please.
Suddenly I Decided to Become The Female Lead
Another promotional one shot for a web novel, I believe. The art is average, and I don't feel like reading the rest of it in novel form. She's reincarnated into the villainess's right hand woman, but attracts the attention of the crown prince somehow. Not that creative, but it doesn't grab me or excite me in any way.
A Beastly Scandal
The art isn't bad at all, I'm quite surprised! The cover art looked like one of those trashy smut webtoons, but it isn't the case so far. The story involves two actors who hate each other but need to work together to act like they're best of pals for a variety show. The female lead is not weak, and has a strong motivational drive so she knows what she wants in life. The male lead is a little pushy and domineering and I don't like him, but maybe they'll explain his behavior later on. I hope this webtoon doesn't go straight into the trash bin in the future, as these kinds of stories tend to do. Update: Finished at 77 chapters, quality declined rapidly after ten chapters and I just wanted this crap to end. Nothing important happens, male lead is still an ass, and they get happily married ever after like no one saw that coming, right?
Jishou Akuyaku Reijou na Konyakusha no Kansatsu Kiroku
I really like this twist on the isekai genre where the main character is not the one who was reborn, but her male love interest is the protagonist, and he's observing her as she grows. As first, the prince treats her as an amusing plaything, but he comes to realize that it is more than that. I like the slow buildup since it's realistic, instead of insta-love you see in most romance isekai stories. Hoping for more great chapters~
