Detective Duo
Art is crap, I'm really disappointed. Barely any detective work, it's fast forwarding to romance already, which is a bad sign. Not really happy with the progress in the first couple chapters that are already out. I don't buy that either of the leads are that intelligent. It's just poorly written.
The Hero Who Seeks Revenge Shall Exterminate With Darkness
Revenge villain isekai with a male lead. He's a true villain, and he kills lots of people in very dark, twisted ways. Although he previously died a horrible and tragic death, the violence of his new life is not really helping me sympathize with him. It's still a decent read, but not one of my favorites.
Emperor And The Female Knight
It was great at the beginning, I liked Pauliana as the badass female lead. But later on, it skips a lot of the war to jump straight to romance, which sucks. There's not much focus on Pauliana herself, and more on the emperor's infatuation with her, which I find to be too rushed to be realistic. Pauliana is oblivious and stupid outside of fighting. I feel very let down by this webtoon. Art is ok, but Pauliana is not pretty at all. The emperor's forehead is way too wide, and I can't stop staring at it. It was even more obvious in the April Fool's chapter where he was bald, and I cannot unsee it. I'm pretty disappointed in this webtoon, it had a lot of potential to be great.
Berserk of Gluttony
The art is fantastic. The Gluttony skill is very interesting, it seems to be weak but turns out to be super powerful, but with major drawbacks. The leads are very similar to Kirito and Asuna from SAO, but they have their own charms. I only wish the chapters were released faster since it's a little stagnant right now.
Feng Qi Cang Lan
The female protagonist is so BOSS and can pwn everyone she comes across haha. I liked how the author made her fall back down and struggle again, but she easily overcomes her obstacles. There isn't really much character development, but I love its humor and watching the female lead's ridiculous antics.
Assassination Classroom
Koro-sensei is a truly unique and iconic character. The supporting cast is not always used to its full potential. The only real distinctive members of the class are Nagisa and Karma. Also the love interest for Nagisa, but I forgot her name since she was mostly a background character. The ending is bittersweet. Sometimes I wish they spend more time with the whole classroom and their crazy antics rather on the killing aspect. It's overall a great manga, but it doesn't make it into my absolute favorites.
Detective Academy Q
Definitely inspired by Detective Conan, it follows a group of children who all have their special talents to solve mysteries. I think it goes downhill after the Plague Village arc, since the characters don't develop much after that. I would have liked to see more Ryu & Kyu rivalry/friendship, but it focuses too much on the Hades and Pluto organization.
Yu Yu Hakusho
This manga is really good, but the author ran out of ideas near the end, sadly. I'm not a fan of how this ended, but it's worth reading just for the whole section up to the Dark Tournament. The beginning where Yusuke becomes a good person and realizing the impact of his death on his friends is very touching, and it made me cry.
Inuyasha
One of the first manga I've ever read, it's still a classic. Inuyasha is a great character and his love triangle with Kagome and Kikyo was well-done. I'm a sucker for the "a group of companions go on a quest to accomplish something" type stories. Definitely worth several read-throughs!
