OMG THIS FREAKING STORY IS SO GOOD, i really meed to read the novel. I think this story is really good because it really comments on the cycle of abuses, especially through the perspective of our main character Annette and how like from the star she's always been subjected to the oppressive "love" of her mother and thus she's been living in ignorance and we see later that it haunts her and then later she finds it through her husband like even though he beats her, she still has a place she still has the "freedom" and all the time she keeps going back and back and back and we see how it destroys her mentally and when she does not have that place that she can hide in she loses herself and finds herself wanting that twisted kind of feeling which she finds in our male lead. and in the end when they return back to the castle that happens again because she is met with the same problem like the male lead has changed again and she retreats back to her castle and shut herself in and even with Giovinette, we see how it's portrayed and her character her brother is abusive to others and possibly her as well and after even though he died, she still clings onto his dead body and kisses his rotting body because that's all she's ever known and when the body of her brother actually dies she seeks to find that comfort in someone else which is Idris and of course I just eventually cannot take it and like isk what happened but you see that she kills him, or he kills himself for her. and it's mentioned that the father had killed himself for her and that could be because I think of obsession she just wanted to find that kind of like abusive comfort again. okay now moving onto our male lead we can see him struggling so much to find his identity especially after at a young age he was exposed to the actual truth from his mother. He never lives in ignorance like his sister and because of that he's spirals because he doesn't know who he is and especially because memories of Iris kept flowing into his mind he had mixed feelings. He was a contradiction. He didn't know what to feel about himself or his sister but when his sister loves her, we see that he eventually feels better because that's what his past Idris and him wants. it's like twisted in a way but he can't escape that feeling and so basically he goes around the feeling a lot he hates her but then he also loves her and it's also the same with our female lead like she hates him and it feels like he is keeping her captive, but that's not the case. That's what they made to believe and also with John that's why he's made to believe from the very start that he was the chain that kept Annette chained and unfree so that's why he despises himself because that's not what he wanted that's not what he or Idris wants. but like despite all that in the end we see that they found comfort in each other they they now know how to love each other without the restrictions from their past or the present like they've gone through that the misunderstandings are gone and they actually want to understand each other and love each other and the child is a symbol of that even though the unborn child like the prophet said that the child would not make it but they despite that continued on and the child I hope lived and that's also a symbol of their love it's enduring the the despite what people says and they've broken through the curse basically so I actually thought the ending would be bad and sad and angsty but I'm glad that was in the case and I'm glad that I was able to see the ending for real this time
