My Hopeless Dreamer

Complete | Nerima Zim | 2000 released

A security guard with dreams of becoming an archaeologist, suddenly finds himself pretending to be the fiancee of a foreign prince. --- Generally cute; art looks nice, character dynamic is interesting. Seme is a bit too young imo though, and the story feels a little rushed.

Aggressive Sex with an Angelic Smile

Complete | Wwwave,Io kaziwara | 2019 released

Needing money to repair his ship, Tatsumi takes on a well paying job. Thing is, this job has minimal details... Before he can figure out what's happening, he is pushed down by a beautiful young man. --- It wasn't too bad. Had it's issues, but was ok overall. Beginning was trash. Rape/VERY dubious consent. Only skimmed a fair amount of pages, not a fan of the whole recorded by other people thing, y'know? The plot got me suprisingly invested, was looking forward to seeing what would happen in the next chapter. Would have liked if there was a side story/spinoff about the director and Mizuki(Yuki's dad), those two have a lot of shit to work out and resolve. Tatsumi is bae. He kinda dumb, but also really sweet. Ended up quite liking Yuki too, though it was a pretty rough ride. PS: Tatsumi's friends are the best.

Ore to Kacho no Shujukankei

I’m only here for the second couple (chapters 6 - 9)

Sayonara Okaeri Itoshisa ni -Koi ni Tsuite, Oshietekurenai ka-

Ongoing | Aosada takashi | 2019 released

Sosuke thought his life was going well, until his girlfriend dumps him out of the blue. Distraught, he goes to a random bar and drinks his sorrows away. There, he meets the bartender Tsukasa. After getting too wasted, Sosuke gets taken home with Tsukasa for the night, and things evolve in ways he didn’t expect. —- A recent favourite of mine. Firstly, the art style is gorgeous. Love the shading and attention to detail. The character designs themselves are also simple, but appealing. I also liked the story. It’s a simple plot, but it works fairly well. Just two people meeting by chance, and slowly getting closer as they realise their own loneliness. A small thing I appreciated was that Sousuke was pretty quick to just... accept that he has fallen for a dude. That’s pretty rare in BL that feature a “straight” character, since most of them keep being in denial about it. Also, I like how Tsukasa was open and honest about his thoughts and feelings at the end, instead of just moving on without saying anything; so communication. I also just really loved seeing a switch couple, specifically one where it seemed perfectly natural no matter which role either partly had. It was a little short in my opinion, and these two could be easily have kept attention for a couple more chapters, but I’m not really upset about it.
