A lonely 15th son of a samurai household is lovingly kidnapped by a Dutch trader. The art is primitive, but the story is warm.

First four chapters are more Shounen ai, only the last chapter is Yaoi. Cute stories, so-so artwork.

Interesting relationship dynamics with this pair.

The author really knows how to convey emotions well. The samurai story was sweetly sad, but the last little omake makes up for it.

I would have loved to have seen these lovers in further historical context, such as the invasion of Manchuria by Japan as the precursor to WWII - how they struggled, loved, survived, grew old, it would have made a lovely longer story.

Ok, the clothes were just silly, especially that shoulder cravat of peacock feathers on Alex. But the art is beautiful.
