Given
This is the BL manga that I don't treat as BL, I don't know if it's a subconscious thing for me to seperate BL from other genres, but I do. A lot of BL feels like I'm reading a "guilty pleasure" sort of manga - but Given feels different. It deals with the topic of loss and mourning incredibly well and has fairly accurate depictions of relationships and what it feels like to be in one. Furthermore, not only is the art beautiful, but the couples are all very adorable in their own right, in a lot of romance genres, I skip the side-couple(s) but Given does a great job at making the couples interesting and the dynamics between them fantastic. Seriously, I need more.
The Planet Walks Alone
I'm head-over-heels in love. The romance aspects in this manhwa is done masterfully and tastefully. The concept and execution of the story is endlessly interesting, the parallel universes provide intrigue and this manhwa is probably one of the best ones I've read. It's teeming with fascinating plot, mystery and characters. The art is also so visually appealing; each panel leaves me stunned and breathless. Just, WOW!
Houseki no Kuni
This was... wow. Insane in ways I can't describe. The development of characters are unexpected to say the least. Quite true to their situations but nevertheless, terrifying. Its quite emotional in many aspects and definitely made me feel various emotions and I'm in a state of shock at how the story has developed. The simplistic art style really highlights the more complex ones and the panels together, work incredibly well. Needless to say, the storyline is fantastic.
