Chapter 4 broke my heart. I feel really bad for the brother, who lost his memories. He got into an accident because he was tormented by the feelings he had for a friend and the feelings his brother had for him and this accident brought his friend and his brother together.

Shiro is a white dog god, who will turn into a dog when separated from Kiyoto and will vanish if Kiyoto no longer needs him. Kiyoto is a human, who is possessed by a black dog god. He feels guilty about his feelings for Shiro and this allows the black dog god to take over his body. Edit (spoiler): Shiro is in reality a human, who is possessed by a white dog god. He was taken in by the the white dog god after being abandoned as a baby.
