This is set up REALLLY well, some parts are confusing and it’s done so well on purpose! Then when the truth is revealed the mood changes sooo fast. I also really like kakine’s character. If this were longer he would be a nice 3 dimensional character!!! The themes of desire, love, and regret are so prominent here! I feel like i read a danmei within 20 minutes gawdamn. As a romance, it’s so-so. I won’t defend Kakine’s actions cause it was fucked up this type of characteristic needs therapy. As a psychological manga, I liked it a lot, the author has a nice understanding of graphic techniques and what makes a psychological manga psychological. The art is really good and the depiction of obsession and fear was sooo nice.

Lost in the Cloud

Ongoing | Kim Pas | 2000 released

Alright, I’ll give my honest opinion. This story feels more like a healing one since from the beginning, it’s obvious skylar has mental health issues. Also, did they change hanuel to skylar cause they mean the same thing??? Anyways, Cirrus is a really interesting character to me. He has a scummy personality but has a human side. That being showing love to a pet. I love characters who are just terrible in all aspects but there are still parts of him that are lovable. The relationship(affiliation w/ each other) is toxic from the start because of blackmailing. Both characters are sort of unlikeable from the start because of Cirrus’s bitchy personality and Skylar’s weird hobby. Despite that, the author did a great job of moving the plot to where Skylar’s personality is practically the same as in middle school (before he was bullied). With Skylar’s weird behavior out of the way, Cirrus is quite a difficult character. He’s improved so far but with how it’s looking, I’m assuming it’s going to be a couple 20~30 chapters before there’s any of a real and healthy relationship between Skylar and Cirrus. This is a verrry nice psychological it got me hooked and the drama is nice. I’m optimistic about this one especially in psychological and healing aspects. I also have no idea if there is any room for romance considering how fucked over Skylar was from his childhood friend and Cirrus’ fucked up manipulating love. It’ll be long for any of that to happen lmfao The only real complaints I have is some messy parts of the story that confused me and character names cause I could not for the love of live remember who that raccoon dude was. ALSO I WANT TO SEE THE SKYLAR’S CHILDHOOD FRIEND IN THE STORY, HE WOULD BE A NICE PLOT DEVICE

From Here It Is A Secret

Complete | HAYANE Dento | 2000 released

super cute super nice i love their relationship so much. From the beginning we are introduced from the perspective of minehito who sees rui and feels like he is being undermined by his personality. Then, it’s slightly hinted that Rui truthfully wants to know more abt minehito so not all is what it seems. Then after the situation with the cross dressing secret being revealed to rui, it’s an unfavorable situation for your secret safe haven to be revealed to the person you feel would make fun of you but that is not the case. If anything it made Rui fall harder for him as he learned more about him. Afterwards, he confronts Minehito playfully abt not talking to him during the shooting of a drama he’s in and Minehito cries! Then Rui becomes panicked. Really nicely done, the author shows readers that Rui is earnest and not a trickster-playboy archetype, it’s just his dual personality that makes it seem so. From there, they become closer (from Rui’s POV) via an interview. But Minehito thinks that there is no purpose in having Rui interview him since he unconsciously believed for a long time that no one would understand him even though he wants to. I like the pacing of the story, it’s much like a movie which becomes evident in chapter 5. This story is really nice, thoughtfully outlined, and the message is clear: Through conflict, POV, and indirect characterization, the author shows the importance of understanding that having separate personas of what you want to perceived as is not deceitful rather it’s the fluidity of a persons character and the fact that a person does not have to go find their “true” and “only” self to be happy. What you want to perceive as is not limited to one personality and is not deceiving in the least as everyone does it do some extent. The story does a great job of highlight the importance of disproving that such people are undeserving of love and understanding, and is done through the character and interactions with Rui. Everyone is three dimensional and it’s up to someone else to understand that everyone has different personalities that will not adhere to what you consider “normal” (which is FLAT and BORING, everyone can be what they want to, it’s fluid!!!!).

At the End of the Road

Complete | Haribo | 2016 released

i’ll say this honestly, the story does a good job of keeping you interested but i feel like if the author had more time there wouldn’t be so many plot holes. For example, the people who rped og Siwon are never addressed like??? because of Yoon Taemins nature i thought that he would be the main driving force to beating the shit out of them or bringing some sort of justice to siwons name (which sounds corny but idgaf). Also, Joohoon’s character is super conflicting, i bet this story would have done a better job of handling his character if the author had more time planning the story out. Jiwooks character is kinda disappointing i feel like there could’ve been a bit more nuance to his character or whatever but i guess he got his justice i just wish he was exposed through his parents and they abandoned him because he was a disappointment which would’ve been a better revenge than what happened in the story. I so wish those rpists were confronted in the story and had a taste of their own medicine but that didn’t happen. This story is not bad though, it introduces a nice plot line (although a bit messy and confusing) i genuinely liked yoon taemins character and his conflicting nature with meeting his past, that being facing the fact that he will never get his body back but his original conclusions that his past body was so insignificant is erased simply by Siwoon/Woojin remembering him. I really like that part because having someone remember you and have you as their most important person is a really great feeling, I think that’s why i really like the story and their relationship. It’s really cute and complex they have a nice chemistry that i wish we got more of, Overall a 7.5/10
