Twittering Birds is by far my favorite mature BL out there. And Yashiro is just one of my favorite manga characters in general. Some about Yoneda Kou’s writing and art has a realistic yet delicate feel to it. It’s just so beautiful in my opinion. From this story to the main one, there’s just so many elements intertwined that just seem genius to me. I love unrequited love, complicated characters, authors who make the effort to bring the psychological aspect into characterization (even though idk how research based it is), and anything that makes me think. Maybe it’s my own fucked up view of people and relationships but any story with dark/psychological themes will always seem more realistic to me than the fluffy/wholesome ones.
