A Thousand Cranes

Complete | Jung Seokchan | 2000 released

Hands down one of my favorite BL manhwa. Not only is it sweet af without it being overly cringe all the time, the plot is amazing!! It’s flavored like a yaoi or BL, but the taste is so refreshing and just PERFECT! Dean wasn’t at all how a crime boss person would be. His backstory was sad and wild for him being raised by a gangster leader father, but it wasn’t poorly done. The whole relationship was 100% consensual!! Omg! The sex wasn’t really viewable (like no genitalia was drawn) but it was all consensual from both parties and it acntuallh took a while for it to happen. There were no deals of ‘you can stay here, but you gotta clean, cook, and suck me off’. NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Dean was so tragically precious that I fell for him too. It was quite easy to even though we know he is murderer. I think it’s because we only know of 3 people he has killed, but have seen the suffering his goes through on the daily because of his upbringing in a murdering profession. We can sympathize with that a lot more than his victims. I knew I was gonna love this just based on the title. I did think that he or Craig was gonna die at some point because they both seemed so tragically lost, but remembering the tags, tragedy wasn’t one of them lol a definite ♾/10 from me

December Rain

Complete | Kimon | 2017 released

Cried my fucking eyes out in the end. The chapters are a bit short, but to the point. We never really get the answers the reader is looking for, but your heart just goes out to Gusam and Suche (I can think of their name spelling rn, that’s probably wrong). The ending was tragic and bittersweet, and a little cliche BUT it did make me feel better as a reader, so it passes. Definitely a broken hearted favorite

Max Mojave's Case

Complete | Skye | 2000 released

Oohh I am loving this one so far! Their relationship did develop very fast though lol Hard to pinpoint an exact era, but it’s set in the States, say around the 40s maybe? The cars and guns are an easy give away, but the clothing styles are so basic that it’s hard to tell. Anyways, at a young age, Chris was a witness to a crime. The murderer hid him and told him to stay quiet cause he didn’t want to kill him. After that he was traumatized and became fearful of guns but interested in crimes and police investigations. Chris, now a young adult has entered college and got himself two roommates, and one of them unexpectedly latches himself on to Chris, unbeknownst to Chris, he’s no ordinary guy. Max is apart of one of the deadliest gangs in the city and happens to be the murderer that hid him as a witness all those years ago. They end up in a romantic and sexual relationship that basically the whole school finds out about and so they move out in their own. Sooner than later, Chris is going to find out what Max really is all about.
