Kuchi no Naka no Shita

Eric was a shockingly blunt yet caring character. I liked how ignorantly stupid Luke was with emojis references to Asian stereotypes. Very American. Cute ass story, I was a bit confused on certain fights that they had, but I just had to keep reading to figure out why. Cute af, would read again.

Set in the US, a lovely strong from a popular novel! A gay romance involving werewolves and (reverse) racism! Surprise, but not really, the Native American MC’s mom doesn’t like white people, but her son fancies blonde hair and blue eyes. Being a werewolf isn’t the main focal point of the story and I enjoy that. It’s refreshing that they are both werewolves, not one human trying to learn of a newfound existence. .Instead the plot focuses on their relationship and fated mates and the acceptance between themselves and within their family and friends. I love how quickly Chay (Native American) was so accepting of his mate being a guy. As for looks, he was spot on, so that was a bonus, but to deny the feeling of your mate was against his better judgement (for both of them really). I will like to add on that I thought it was strange af that even though Chay’s mom doesn’t like white folks, she named her kid one of the whitest American names I’ve ever heard and I think his middle name is Montgomery. Lol and many of the names of the other Native Americans (including werewolves) are very white or weird white American names like Tina, Bobby, and Keaton (Chay’s white lover, also a very strong werewolf, but doesn’t care. He came out to his family and left because they wouldn’t accept him). I am not sure if it’s just names the author thought white people had in America or they weren’t sure if Native American names were ok to use. Idk, but it’s funny and honestly took some getting used to.
