Genuinely a great story and was hard to put down! I cried at the end, and the story arc was super solid! I absolutely love Simon and Connor, and I'm just proud of them for getting through everything. It also is a really interesting commentary on homophobia/racism, even in a fictional place. It's really powerful since it does a great job of blending reality and a 'modern' setting with discrimination that we think of as in the past. Not only is this story about overcoming hardships and loving without fear, but it also provides a lens to remember the hardships people actually did and do go through. It's a heavy read that deals with a lot of serious topics, but successfully gets the reader thinking about it while also providing a thrilling plot and loveable main couple. 100/10, a must read.
