sexy sex (but lots of dubcon), gorgeous art, gorgeous men, and some not totally half assed world building. its ultimately more erotic romance than historical fantasy but its def trying to be a bit of both. and i appreciate its effort even if that part of the plot isnt as engaging to me as the more sexy romance side but thats just cuz im a pervert haha. anyway def one of the better BLs out there. if u like dubcon this is extra hot, and if u dont that might be a turn off but they do eventually fall in love and i did feel convinced enough by it. feel free to skip the 2 or so chpt short story BL in Space that comes after it. its just very....meh. (gorgeous tan boy made me give it 3 stars right away haha)

this was....so underwhelming. i could say more but that almost feels like a waste of my time. lol it sounds like i hated it but i didnt i just left the story feeling unsatisfied and kinda bored. but not enough to quit the story mid way. just seems like ti didnt do anything interesting with its omegaverse premise, the love story isnt very romantic or angsty or charming. the bickering isnt rly all that clever or funny. the comedy itself is just very broad. the art is fine and the sex scenes are also fine, not esp erotic but fairly naughty. its too long to be a quick smutty read before bed but doesnt use its length to tell any kind of compelling story. the fact that it ends without either marking, marriage, babies or some other kind of Commitment (and the love making scene is weirdly short and inconsequential despite all the build up to it?). at the end im still not entirely convinced that the alpha is esp invested in the omega and thats a shame. in the end not bad enough to give it 1 star but not enjoyable enough to give it more than 2 (and also their hatred is based on almost nothing, and again doesnt even use that pettiness to be actually funny) there's a better version of this story that ive read elsewhere.

had so much potential to be fun but takes a bit of a weird turn at the end to drum up extra drama and have the soft boi top save the "bitchy" bottom and then ultimately ends on a very vanilla and straight gaze-y note. which woulda made me take off a star alrdy but then the weird shit where for some bizarre reason the bad guy wants sado-queen to fuck his own younger brother....huh??? (the real huh is they almost do it! they are like "oh dear...well i guess we have no choice~~" like...wtf? im not even that opposed to incest in fictional stories but for it to occur in a story where one of his main motivating factors is to hide his kinky lurid lifestyle from his innocent baby bro and protect him and provide for him...ugh whatever. that was another star. im mad cause the setup was so up my alley. coulda had it all~ (it def conflates having a job doing sex work and being kinky with somehow being "broken" inside or troubled and ughhhhh just BYE)

light. silly. forgettable. as in i already forgot what happens for most of the story. i should prob fix that at some point.....anyway its fine! (as always the central premise is so patently silly yet not funny enough to justify its use so that alrdy kinda KOs most of my emotional connection to it but the real question is, is it smutty and fun? yes, yes it was....i think)
