I think people overacted a bit, she's not that bratty. The only moment I can recall her being bratty was when she tried to make him her servant, it was never brought up again till later when she called him her servant once to save him and never again used it. The other time was when she tried to look at his sword but she gets scolded and leaves it alone. In fact she gets mad for him in the future when someone forces him to give his sword.
