Honestly, if I was the sake chick, I'd love that development, even if it did cost me my own happy ending Ahhh lol, to expand on the the thoughts of the me from 2016, so long as the person I love is happy I'm good with anything. Not in the sense that I'd go cray shipping them, but in the sense that, knowing his love bore fruit as sweet as happiness, that itself would've made me happy. Friendship would've been enough for me because I mostly give way and let the other person shape the relationship. Tho the biggest factor in giving way to people has to be their honesty about the situation, he was honest from the beginning and him already having a great love didn't come after years of falsities. Not to mention being upfront as soon as the other person showed up, instead of spending time sneaking around. Holding grudges or remaining in good relations will be decided by the overall situation.
