Chapter 7 (24 January 2011)
Summary: Love is found in the strangest places and with the most unexpected partners. The men (and cats!) of SENTIMENTAL GARDEN LOVER burst into heart-throbbing bloom! A scruffy stray cat wishes for big hands to hold an abused man, and a cute kitten begs for speech to comfort a broken-hearted stranger. Wander further into the garden, and you'll find close siblings upset by a love rival; a jaded delinquent flustered by a trusting bookworm; an evasive, glasses-hating man; and a president eager to find a weakness in his perfect secretary. For both cat and human, the quest for love is here!
Okay, this manga is ... yeah, quite good. Despite being all cliche, it has a good theme for the stories. First story is about a cat who wished to be a human so that he could protect the uke from his abusive partner. So he did. It was rather annoying but okay. Too supernatural. The second story is also about a cat turning into a human, but it was the other cat, Shima, who ran away and was found by a man who was left by his ex lover because of marriage. I don't really like it since the uke's character design isn't to my liking. The third story is interesting. A delinquent who hid in a bookstore and accidentally read a book that the uke really loved. Even though at first the seme denied he liked the book, but later on he started to accept it. But when his dark past got involved, he decided to put it to an end. He got beaten so badly and I thought he was dead. But fortunately he wasn't an now was happy with the uke. The forth story is about bothers who loved each other. Pretty cliche, but still good. Two brothers who always together, one day the older caught the younger with a girl, then getting all depressed even running away, searching consolation at his poor friend's home. But when reconciliation came, it finished. It was a bit disturbing when the younger told the older that, even though one day would come when he would find someone for his life, it would definitely be a lot like his older brother. Pretty deep, huh. The fifth story is about a worker who was being confessed to by his junior. But, the junior wore glasses, and he hated glasses for it reminded him of his bad, past lover. But the seme insisted until he could find a way. In the end, the uke decided to wear glasses as well. The last story is probably the best. A secretary worked for his lazy-ass president. The president found his weakness, and then used it to threat the uke to change the appearance into a delinquent one. He got it, and then they went on a date of eating such deadly delicious dessert. Then, when one day the seme suggested him to introduce to other companies, the uke showed a strange expression of devastation. It made the seme feel guilty of course. I like it the most because the reconciliation was a good sex because the other stories lack of them. Nice, but not good enough to be considered as my favorite.
