Unique premise, engaging writing, lovable characters and a strong female protagonist! A historical fiction mystery with whodunnits that don't take readers for fools and realistic world building inspired by real-life ancient history with a bit of a slow burn romance blooming at the centre (the male lead is healthy: kind, mature and most importantly, falls first!). The medical and botanical knowledge in this was heavily researched, lots of praise particularly to the translation team for adding little notes to explain the effects of certain medicines! Cried when I realized it was still in progress. If you're still considering, just read it!
