As someone abandoned by a parent, I see Hyesungs reactions as 100% valid. While my "parent" was not a victim of abuse (more the abuser), they also acted the same way. Disappeared. Zero effort to maintain or grow a substantial relationship and claimed I didn't put enough effort in.
Frankly, in a child-parent relationship, we (the children) still have expectations of parental leadership.
With my parents who raised me, our relationship is effortless. We have foundation of love and trust. I do put in an "effort" but it isn't the same.
