I hear some people say they don't like Ran and Yustaf as a couple, but I don't really get it? It's a slow romance, but I like that, and I also enjoy the other things that progress the story. The step sibling thing doesn't feel that odd to me, they didn't really grow up together, and their parents aren't there to make it weird.
The fact that Ran is stand-offish towards romance in general feels natural given that she has knowledge about the future. Although not overly so, she's strategic and pretty cautious with her emotions. I think Yustafs way of slowly approaching her, and then reveal is intentions in a position where she is free to reject him is really nice and refreshing.

true. i didnt even view them as step siblings from the beginning. so it wasn't weird for me to view them as a couple. frankly, i like this pace of their romance. not forced and yustaf is taking his time courting ran.

yup, same here. I usually can't stand siscon type stuff, but they were never siblings. Never lived like a family, she used to harass him (before the Isekai) and then he went to boarding school
Agree on the part that they never really grew up together, it's also one of the reasons why I still stuck around reading the manhwa. I also think that Yustaf liking Ran isn't weird at all bc in his perspective, I don't think he ever thought of Ran as a sibling at all. What makes me iffy though is on Ran's part bc she truly cared for Yustaf and truly cared for him but not in a romantic way. But if not in that way, then what other way did she care for Yustaf? The only thing that's linking her to him is their "sibling" status so more or less, that could be it? That's just my thought process on this though, which is why in some ways it still feels weird to me esp on Ran's part bc she may be transitioning from /sibling/ feelings to /romantic interest/ feelings
She did say she didn't really see him as a brother though. I think she initially cared for him out of guilt (and fan's bias I guess) because she thought she was the author. Eventually that turned to affection, but she never thought she had any "right" to like Yustaf. And as the 2nd prince observed, she sort of viewed herself as an outsider/observer, and in that she excludes herself as a possible love interest to anyone. She never seems to think that Lumière could like her either. I think that's why she can act so close with them (like touch their face, hug etc) and think nothing of it.There's other stories where I feel a bit icky about non-related siblings getting together, but not here. But idk, I could also see how some people are more sensitive to it.

probably not, they most likely had their first night after marriage but obviously they didn't love each other and kisses usually entail that. he's only kissing her now because he hates that there is a possibility of her belonging to someone else, it's kind of like marking territory. like the asshat he is
It said in the beginning that she fell in love with him, and was ignored by him when she lost her powers. Obviously he didn't love her, but I think he pretended to like her in the beginning to gain a strong mage? Having sex without kissing at all is still a bit weird then.

And idk about if he got with her out of spite. I think the mc bullying the sister made the sister look a little different in the princes eyes than when mc started to stop chasing him. Cuz as she said the whole reason they got to getter was most likely because of her bullying her sister and giving her a damsel in distress/mary sue vibes. And that made the sister look cuter and better and more pitiful than mc. And im guessing he doesn’t even know about her suffering because he was shocked (kinda) to find out about her mom and how similar they are- yk?
