This is royal palace politics, of course there's going to be plots and attempts at someone's life. I think it's interesting how some of you guys didn't get this emotional when people were plotting to poison the MC, but because a kid is involved suddenly that's unforgivable?
Nah!
A concubine and consort's job is to produce an heir. That's it. Therefore if they're able to have a child, that child is now leverage over the future of the entire kingdom/empire. The status of that concubine or consort is also elevated to a nearly untouchable status since they're now the mother of the next ruler (if it's a boy).
Thing is, this story is dealing with a crazed emperor. And as you can see, he's willing to lay and dispose of anyone who gets in his way regardless of relation. It's obvious that the royal consort is plotting against the emperor by using their son. Unfortunately she thinks that he'll never lay his hands on the next in line. I honestly don't think this guy cares anymore. I mean, look at how fast he put that kid in a choke hold.

within a single night, Suyeung goes from holding in pain and enduring it, to letting it all go and having his mind go blank. I'd like to see the part where Taeseung finally admits that he's extremely turned on by him. I mean his face when he stared at Suyeung's messy face looked like someone who was about to lose it. So when he referred to Suyeung's face as that of a broken toy, I kind of snickered a bit and thought, "yeah, sure. You're nuts for the guy and you can't get enough."
As for Jiseong, nah dude. You've forced this guy way too many times and you were made to check yourself before putting your rapey hands on Suyeung again. It's not that Jiseong's possessive, it's that he treats Suyeung like a possession only he can control and have. Can't say I like the idea of a whole gang busting up a gym, but Jiseong really did bring that onto himself. He was way too controlling and abusive. Heck, he's probably the reason why Suyeung has a crutch.

Obviously it's an alternate route where none of the crappy events in the mainstory took place. At first I thought this was supposed to be a dream, but it's just a "What If..." line that gives people shipping Chiwoo and Jihyun a chance to see it played out. And I think that's fine. But for me, it's the mainstory. I like Kyujin and everything he did to protect Chiwoo and to support him. They're a cute couple.
I appreciate what the author did by giving people a glimpse into the other side because, let's face it, Jihyun really did love Chiwoo. And perhaps if Jihyun got away from his father sooner; perhaps if his temper was controlled more; perhaps if he understood you don't hurt those you love, you protect them; perhaps if he didn't behave like a thug; perhaps if he treated Chiwoo a bit sweeter and gave him some time to finally realize his feelings, that things would have been different. The rape wouldn't have happened, they would have graduated like they were supposed to, and they would have ended up with each other. And I think it's ok to look at the alternative outcome as something like that and to enjoy it.

that we're getting a bonus story of the happy couple post-main story!
I love Mingwa's style and touch in illustrating and constructing such a light-hearted romantic story like this. Sure overall story is nothing new, but it's the execution that counts and she's continuing to fulfill it. This is probably the fifth time I'm re-reading this and it doesn't get old for me.
Dong-Gyun is the cutest! He's just our cute protag and clearly Jiwan can't get enough of how his cuteness translates into something highly erotic in bed. I mean, how many times did Jiwan go on a marathon because he kept getting turned on by him? Heck, when the story first started, he got hard over his blushing face. The guy just can't stop himself! lol
And then there's Chanwoo and MD! I can't even...
It's magic when an author can make you feel the same sort of compassion and vested interest in the supporting characters as you've felt with the main two. When the MD arc was going on, it got emotional. You could feel that MD was serious about Chanwoo, that Chanwoo didn't want to ruin his time with MD, and that epic moment where Chanwoo had to use the safe word in tears because he didn't want his love being taken away from him.
Like holy crap! That got to me! (That and the moment Jiwan wished he and Dong-Gyun could have met during their high school years...sheesh. Something about that just pulled at my heart.)
I thought it was brilliant how the safe word was Vanilla only to have MD and Chanwoo go vanilla in the tub as a newly formed couple. lol
This story is just well paced. The pops of color help illustrate the mood. The characters are well designed.
Mingwa is talented! I'm just going to be her fan and I can't wait to see what else she publishes in the future.

And here I was ready to write up this whole review of my experience reading this series because it said "Completed" on the series page.
Whatever, I'll do it anyway!
This manhwa is hilarious and frustrating at the same time. I have to say that Hye-Sung's hang ups piss me off, especially when he decides to make a run for it and pretty much abandon ship. The amount of times I wanted to reach through the monitor and wring his neck was remarkably profound. However it did make me happy when he finally came clean with his feelings. It's just that tsundere characters like him, characters that are so heavily imbued with insecurity that they over-react first and think things through a year later, never really compromise; never really trust; never really stop bitching; never really matures...because they lump all their baggage and current situations under one umbrella instead of compartmentalizing.
Geesh, it's Kaede from Ranma 1/2 all over again....ugh.
Anyway...
I LOVED seeing Hyeon-Jo and Minjae in their Omegaverse forms!!! I was actually reading that and thinking, "if this was the Omegaverse, Minjae would be pregnant by now because Hyeon-Jo is ruthless, man!" This was a wonderful little cameo and a nice surprise when I recognized them! I'll have to read it again just to catch Hye-Sung and Dojin's original characters. :)
Another highlight for me was seeing Heesoo fight off his attackers and fight that yandere, Chiwon. THANK GOD someone had the balls to finally draw a moment where the victim puts some jealous bitch in their place. THANK YOU!!! That was one of my favorite parts.
I need more of this! This is too cute and Yuki is freakin delicious! He's adorable!
UPDATE ALREADY!
