I agree, but I think it was initial shock. And my guess is he will get over it pretty fast and feel bad?? idk, just at the end when the mc got upset and left, the demon guy looked like he felt bad? I could just be imagining it tho lol
now that I think about it, other factors could be in play as well, like personal trauma or something.
