Honestly... I don't think this story should have a happy ending, or at least not one in which these two walk away a happy couple. Realistically, once you rape someone there is no hope of a healthy, loving relationship. You can't come back from that... to me it's the ultimate sin and breach of trust. If this story pulls the "Oh, I forgive you so let's live happily ever after now" card I won't feel comfortable. I feel strongly that we should never romanticize rape or minimize it as a crime... even if it's a fictional story. This story's realistic portrayal of rape thus far was the only thing I could stand behind... Does anyone else agree? I know not everyone will.. and If not, I'd love to hear your opinions so long as they are respectful.
I agree with you that there are some things in life from which you can’t return and rape is one of them. And if it were the only sin in the story, I would have shared your opinion. However there are more factors to the end result and the final mental state of the characters. They are at a point of no return and, as the main character expressed at one point, if they can’t go back, where should they turn. !SPOILER! (To who hasn’t read until the last chapter)
Going forward and ignoring the past is not an option. That’s why I think the burning of the warehouse, which represented the symbolic erasing of the past, is a way of starting from the beginning. Both characters are at fault for what has happened until now. Now I’m not saying D. (I don’t know how to spell his name properly) deserved the rape and abuse, that has happened to him. He played a role however in setting the factors, which led to this situation. And since both of the characters are at the same time villains and heroes, there isn’t a sure ending and retaliation for them. As we have seen neither of them wants the other one to die, they can’t just pretend like it hasn’t happened either. D. has nothing to go back to and because of his early on abuse craves for affection and love. The other one can’t live without D. because of his obsession and also has nowhere to go. This is why in my opinion the only way to go is to start over. In conclusion, is it a happy ending - no, but it is a fitting one, in my opinion.
Interesting perspective. I can appreciate your point of view and I certainly understand that it isn't a clear black and white kind of situation. There are complexities that make it hard to feel strongly one way or another. No doubt they've both made mistakes. I just feel one has made an unforgivable mistake. I mean... I understand not wanting to see a rape scene, but if we're reading the same story you had to have seen it coming. There were plenty of warning signs ahead of time... A man was murdered in the first chapter for God's sake. I'd suggest finding a new read if you're sensitive to these things because this wasn't the first and it certainly won't be the last fucked up thing you see in this manwha.
The two stalkers and the two people they are stalking look similar enough that I feel like my head is about to explode... why couldn't the author have made more of a distinction in the way they drew their character's features lol

Are some of you forgetting how much trauma Joseph's been through? And then Vincent starts acting in a similar way to the professor who assaulted him not even hours prior? His actions are likely a symptom of ptsd and months of nervous build up. I'm not saying Joseph is a saint, but his actions are linked to his circumstances. He's out of sorts, obviously, and not himself because of it. I think Vincent means well, he was just too passionate in the moment and acted in a way that startled Joseph.
As someone who can't purchase the raws (because it is honestly very difficult if you're an English speaker or not from Korea using the bomtoon website) can someone provide a place to view the raws free? I supported the author when they were on Lezhin and I honestly wish there was an easier way to do so now. Please know I would if there was. I just don't feel comfortable sending my photo ID to verify my age online... it makes me uncomfortable.
Do you not have a credit card or debit card? I was able to get an account with my facebook account and buy coins with my credit card. When you send your photo id you can black out your face and any other details. They only need your name and age/birthdate. If you block out everything else there shouldn't be any security issues.
