It's actually quite possibly cancelled. There hasn't been an update in Cheese! the magazine it runs in for months and in last issue a new title by the same artist started in it.

It's possible. The new serialization did come with an advertisement for the old one. Maybe the old one will return which has happened at times when an artist simply had enough for a while but later picked it up again. Japanese publishers don't communicate anything about this in general.

OG FL:
So Rize? Rhyse? Elise? (She has so many fucking names) the current Rize isn’t the original Rize from the novel…she is possessed by the Author or the novel. Author known as K is heartless and dont expect redemption from her coz all she cares about is having the ‘perfect ending’ with a harem of both Cliff and Killian.

MC FL:
She is the 13th soul to possess Edith’s body and the other ppl are prolly dead due to the Author in Rize’s body

Killian: (+Authority)
Killian along with Cliff (the main ones affected by authority) and basically other characters are all under the ‘Authority’ which is because of Rize. What the Authority does is make the characters follow along the original plot by having them be mindless puppets…so no matter what Edith does, Cliff and Killian will ‘love’ Rize… hence the glitched text boxes thats like their ‘supposed thoughts’.
Killian was originally very playful and likes teasing Cliff but because of the Authority he’s cold and stiff but that changes when MC FL breaks the Authority on him.
So to break Killian’s restrictions there are 3 requirements.. 1) Sleep with him (as of rn she has done that) 2) Reject him 10 times (ch33 ongoing) 3) Die without resisting (future talk)
Slowly Killian is less and less affected by the Authority and becomes more himself and he sees how fucked up Rize is.

Cliff:
Well i kinda have no words for him except he’s still a bitch ngl… naw uts aight but i just dont like him. So coz his restrictions arent lifted (just at the end) he acts fucking annoying and when Killian becomes less interested in Rize so Rize feels threatened and paid more attention to Killian… Cliff gets mad at Killian (like bro fucking get mad at Rize tf) and He married Rize but broke up with her at the end and married someone else

What i thought too… like why us it called not your typical.

The only thing that u dont normally see in other stories is the og author showing up and being the villain and ig the whole theres been 12 other ppl possessing Edith
