no the two bodies had always been similar to each other. Remember in the beginning of the story when he got a haircut in his original body and they showed a closeup of his eyes? they were the same ones as his new body. My thoughts are that his original body is short and fat because of the way he took care of himself while growing up (eating unhealthyily and not exercising) and his new body is what he should look like if he took care of himself properly. Do you also remember when his mom told the new body while they were having coffee together "my son used to be very handsome when he was a kid"? Sorry I typed so much, I just wanted to share my thoughts lol
