the father daughter duo we LOVE!!!!protect our baby!! ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
Personally I don’t mind as long as Elizabeth becomes an adult for that since when we saw the flashback of the first life it seemed like she liked Ash. Plus people in the world seems to live for hundreds of years considering the Vice Presidents daughter is still alive and had a child. Although the age gap may be weird I personally would ignore it as the moment she reaches adulthood she should be able to make her own choices. Also no this isn’t grooming. The definition of grooming a minor is basically “ a method used by offenders that involves building trust with a child and the adults around a child in an effort to gain access to and time alone with her/him. In extreme cases, offenders may use threats and physical force to sexually assault or abuse a child.” Ash isn’t really doing that. He’s just caring for her and in the future based off the book Ash even saved her disregarding their bad relationship.
I know and I feel the same way, I just wasn't sure how they might react or what their opinion would be, especially when they thought that their relationship would be more like one between a father and a daughter.
There's also the fact that so far that Elizabeth doesn't seem to be feeling that way about Ash (that he gave her dad vibes, idk how to explain it better), though we're not quite sure how Ash feels as we haven't gotten that, but I don't think he feels fatherly towards her either (though he is extremely protective, which seems to fit more with his personality as well).
It's like you said, he's just taking care of her and there isn't any grooming going on (I mean, they were alone together for how long? I'm sure if that was his intention, which it isn't, I'm sure that would have started VERY soon after she was rescued as she would have been extremely vulnerable and easier to manipulate - that Georg guy seems like he wouldn't hesitate to groom someone though).
However, I probably wouldn't be able to read this if she's not an adult when the real romance eventually starts and/or the two end up together, though I wonder what the age when someone is considered an adult in the world that they're in, I assume 16-17 at the earliest and 20-21 at the latest.
But yeah, the age gap isn't that the older two people get and the people here can live for a pretty long time (and technically the MC is "older" than what she or anyone else would know, considering this is her second go around at living her life, so I wonder when more of her memory will comeback to her and she realizes this), and in general I find it easy to look at people's age and age differences in a relationship as fractions, and generally the younger people are the smaller the number would be in the fraction, whereas the older people get with the same age difference, the fraction would be higher. I think of it like this: the smaller the answer for the fraction (youngest age/oldest age), then the greater the difference of the couple, and the smaller it becomes, then there's too much power in the relationship in the hands of the person who is older, even if it isn't intentional, (think sugar daddies/sugar babies or cougars/sugar babies (*cough* or some celebrity couples *cough*)). But if the answer from the fraction is smaller, then the closer in experiences and chances to gain a decent amount of knowledge about life as well that each person in the relationship would have in comparison with each other (though every person is different). I'm not sure if I'm explaining this well or not
{ For example, if the age difference is 8 years, then these would be the difference between the ages:
* A 13 year old and a 21 year old.
13/21 = 0.619
* A 36 year old and a 44 year old.
36/44 = 0.818
A 9 year old and a 11 year have the same answer as well, to give a better idea.
9/11 = 0.818
Though to be fair, this is something I came up with based off of normal human lifespans, so I'm not sure how that would translate to people who seem to easily live past 100 and in some cases, even thousands of years.
But this is my long winded reason why I would be chill once she's not a kid anymore and is an adult to be with Ash, especially as they get older (again, the MC's memories can factor into this as well if she gains more outside of that "book", as she was a lot older before she came back, which can change the dynamic between her and Ash)
