i have many issues with the manhwa adaptation that i can overlook, but now they're constantly messing with the plot. like it's not just hyunjae/yoojin interactions anymore, but like the actual important plot points.
they skipped the part after the mermaid dungeon where hyunjae gives yoojin a watch, which he refuses when yoohyun says that he wanted to give him one instead. does it seem important here ? probably not- but trust me when i say, it is very important.
spoiler alert- it is literally the one memory belonging to yoohyun in the marble that yoojin will lose later on and it is so so important for the emotional impact of that scene like i remember literally breaking down when i got to that part- spoiler end.
yet they're adding all that extra "comedy" panels, which may seem funny but are honestly doing way too much. it's not translating the impeccable humor, that is literally one of the best things about the novel. a lot of it is because they really ruined yoojin's character in the manhwa- his humor in the novel is a lot more "polite sarcasm", it is honestly so great. he has so much depth and gravity in the novel, so much more capable and complex. novel yoojin my beloved. manhwa yoojin Who tf are you.
this is really a mediocre adaptation if you have read the novel. they should change the script writer and storyboardist.
i love the character designs though (except yoojin's ngl i don't like it. but yoohyun's design here <333 hyunjae's is ok, kinda mid. yerim and hyuna i love <3)
Ah, sorry, I liked your comment by mistake.. While I agree that the manhwa has a different feel than the novel (though I haven't read much further), I like how it's going..
kinda bland, could've been executed better. there was way too much exposition with the characters constantly talking about their feelings like it's a damn therapy session
w-what? but, but that's literally what the story is about...? Working to get past his traumas..? wuh? trash-chan
suppose at this point we got intergenerational therapy wisdom to zero in on..."hey, this sounds like something I've heard before". And for once I'd say it's probably not a bad thing ^^
i couldn't bring myself to hate yoo jungwoo.... i hope he lives happily with his grandma and learns how to have sincere relationships in the future.....

I fully agree with u, atp I'll just pretend the manhwa adaption doesn't exist and wait for someone to pick up the novel
