Okay first off I'm just blowing off some steam here cause it ticked me off.

-> this is not an invitation for you to come in my replies and be like "don't like? Don't read!" Cause it adds nothing to the conversation ^_^ I never even said I didn't like the story, I love Taehyuk and Hyo-un a lot EXCEPT for the part I'm ranting about <-

If I'm being honest I feel like the plot/backstory could have gone the exact same without taehyuk being the one to raise hyo-un (you might say "wouldnt Hyo-un be obsessed with the person who was raising him even if it wasnt taehyuk?": I mean there are alternatives... the Backstory didnt really need to start from his birth and there never needed to be somebody to raise Hyo-un... I feel like it would make him a bit more complex if he was forced to learn on his own completely unknowing of the ways of the world).
Like genuinely during the flashbacks I started cringing because with the way it was going sigmund freud would be doing backflips in his grave- probably shaking the earth above him..... It's weird that in like every rofan/isekai/reincarnation– whatever!
These days has a trope where they raise the person they fall in love with. It freaks me out that this is slowly becoming more and more normal to other people and other authors who think "yes I'll write this into my story!"
..... Before the flashbacks, they were cute and sweet- Personally I had already thought up possible plot points- like Taehyuk turns out to really not be Hyo-un's reincarnated mate but they learn to work around that and truly love eachother. Or sure, Taehyuk is his reincarnated mate but the fact Hyo-un calls him 'my lord' was maybe alluding to how they started off- maybe it was contractual or something.... that's how hooked i was on the story, I was really intrigued!
But instead, the backstory was that Taehyuk picks up a Dying Hyo-un who has no knowledge of anything... who literally had the mind and brain development of a child- and then they shack up because...? Ah because Hyo-un has an oedipus complex because he's entirely dependant on Taehyuk.... (a negative oedipus complex? What's the version for same-sex situations..? Whatever...)
now I'm not saying I don't like codependent yaoi, I don't have high standards. However it's just so.... ugh. I could not read the sex scenes during or after the flashback period because all I could think about was Hyo-un as a kid being raised by Taehyuk.
After the flashback part when the amnesia arc began Hyo-un goes back to calling him sir and it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth because I am unfortunately forced to remember all that!

There were an infinite amount of probably better and probably worse backstories to explain Hyo-un's connection to Taehyuk.. and of course the author picked one of the weirdest ones.
