So this isn't from me, I haven't read the novel, but someone who did spoiled this on a forum:
1. MC is an unreliable narrator, the person who spoiled this didn't elaborate much, but they said the narration about how he lost his first partner and got injured himself isn't exactly how it happened and that this isn't the only situation.
2. I don't know if this was omitted in the manhwa or if it appears later but apparently the military really fvcked our MC up: "anesthesia for two of the most painful surgeries a person can have was refused to MC. Pain meds after for recovery and rehab was an absolute no. MC sat through his friends funeral in so much pain he doesn't remember anything . . . he goes to a psychologist for depression meds. No surprise here, they give him multivitamin pills instead. . . . he starts self-medicating with alcohol"
3. initially MC's "retirement plan was to go sit on a beach somewhere and wait for a storm. Then he would 'accidentally' drowned. That way no one could prove it was on purpose. Let's call that his eternal retirement plan."
4. HUGE FVCKING SPOILER ABOUT THE STORY'S ANTAGONIST: so apparently, MC's original partner was alive and is the one who attempted to kill and eventually later killed MC.

I suggest checking the link, if you are not afraid of spoilers, there is much more than what I shared!
You are right, apparently the military organization or whatever it is tries to mentally exhaust ML with all those clones
And about your question, I'll just copy the answer from the forum again. Apparently MC tells the ML who already suspected it: They are in bed . . . The MC had just been told how lonely and sick the Ml was the whole five years he [the original MC's body] was dead." The MC decides to not lie and tell ML the truth. "ML starts crying and shaking. He had suspected, all the signs were there. Yet, to have the truth just out there, the ml was completely overwhelmed. The MC just lies there holding him."

this is pure comedy. seriously, why is this so funny, we are on a ship, and there is an office whit THAT thing manifesting out of nowhere, and the MC's face is like 'how did this get here?'. and I just can't stop laughing, bruh why do you have that in your office?? this was supposed to be hardcore porn so why am I laughing

People have been throwing the word pedophilia around way too much these days. Pedophilia is attraction to prepubescent children. This is a 17 year old, which in certain countries is nearly a legal adult.
And about their sexual relationship, it's not ethical, not appropriate, and it is exploitative and disturbing. But again it's not illegal, majority of countries have the age of consent set at 16. (Also I checked and in China it's 14, so that's even lower)
So, is this slightly off-putting? -Yes. Is it pedophilic or legally wrong? -No.
And before you start calling me out, I didn't say anything about a relationship like this being okay. I am just tired of people calling authors disgusting and their content pedophilic when it's not the case.

Ehm so I don't know anything about why the manhwa doesn't continue... But the novel is completed (5 volumes + 4 side stories).
Here is the link for the raw novel:

I don't remember well, but I think the manhwa adapted 3 volumes.

My problem with this is that confinement r*pe plot can be done right, we have seen it in Warehouse (and in many more as well). Similarly, regardless of the plot, the toxic sex/r*pe can be done well (in my opinion Married Man is perfect example of this)
However, this shit ain't it!! Not only the hinted plot (revenge story?) stops making sense right when it gets introduced but the sex ain't even good??!!! Like I don't care how trashy the plot was supposed to be, but even the sex sucks????!!!
I checked the raws to confirm what the other commenters been saying and they are right. Stop reading here. The first 4 chapters are probably the best you can get from this manhwa, anything past that is shit.

I found it familiar, and surely it seems like an adaptation of the novel I coincidentally stumbled upon few days ago.

At this point I just laugh when I see another hiatus. It doesn't surprise me anymore. It's been too many time that I have zero expectations of the author. And maybe that's a good thing.
On the other hand, why don't they take a year or something to work under their own preferred pace with breaks and such and then just dump chapters on us? Or why not switch from weekly release to 10-day release or biweekly release? There are much better ways to do this than having hiatus every fvcking five chapters. (and I feel like might have not been exaggerating, wasn't the last one like a month ago?)
