I've been reading the comments and you guys are disgusting. The mc gets graped and you guys say "it happens in the yaoi world a lot" "snowflakes" like you guys are JUSTIFYING grape??? hello??? yall have been desensitized bc you read shit like this and then make up excuses. It's crazy to me that you guys are unfazed by something disgusting like this. Get help and yall disgust me
It's crazy you're virtue signaling over fictional characters. If you don't know how to separate fiction and reality don't read something that's gonna trigger you.
U can say that but you gotta face the fact that some people won't drop this story just for some comment like yours. Backing out of this story is just a piece of cake, especially if it triggered your moral high horse

But they’re right! We’re kinda used to it! I’ve also noticed that I can easily read and get past these scenes while I used to get triggered by them! I personally think this separation between reality and fiction makes more sense when it comes to some fetishes that might be considered taboo or things that are impossible to happen in real world but something forced that cause you unwanted pain can be actually traumatic and is wrong in both fiction and reality, we look past it without acknowledging how fucked up it actually is!
There are two types of people who read BL those that are desensitised so will pretty much read anything because they just accept it. I wouldn’t say majority enjoy reading rape but rather its so common in BL you can’t avoid it.
And those like you who obviously hate it and won’t read it. Which is also fine nobody should subject themselves to reading toxic or triggering material.
I personally don’t like rape in my BL but it’s unavoidable since 90% of BL will put it in the story at some point. I rate my stories if the toxicity is below 5 out of 10 i will read it. If it its over 5 to 7 I will see how long the toxicity lasts if its over 40 chapters i drop the story and anything above 7 toxic levels I ignore and don’t even waste my time.
Also taking periodic breaks from reading BL is good.

I dont think the act of becoming desensitized is all thay weird though. It's the natural progression of the brain for any repeated patterns. The first few times you see the sunset in Hawaii? 10/10. The next few times it's normal, then it's average. Like eating your favorite food everyday or watching horror movies. There's no way not to become desensitized to these things. Especially when everyone also has a rudimentary amount of apathy to something they don't actually see in front of them.
Acts of violence are present in most forms of media in brutal to more mild comedic ways. We are used to seeing it and we also know they are not real so it's not something that phases us after the first few times. Not to say that some people aren't the exception to the rules. Regardless of that though both those types of people will not be able to handle an actual act of violence happen in front of them.
So being concerned or fearful that we are getting desensitized to non con in BL is an understandable concern but it weird nor a big deal. Especially when I know that we all would be super against it if and when it does happen to real people.
I will however agree that it's a weirdly overly present thing in yaoi but I also think it's because of the phase BL manhwa/Manga is in right now. As old shoujos had a lot of borderline to actual non con in then when they really began taking off in popularity.

Fr thoo, im a heavy bl reader myself and encountered a lot of drunk sex, but this is diff af. Not only is it rape but also gaslighting the shit out of him, keeping him hostage, and invading his privacy. That is just criminal.

Read my other comment before replying to this one.m, otherwise it just feels like you're grabbing for low hanging fruit. AichiS.
I ain't reading all that cus the moment u said separate fiction and reality, you made me pissed. Your argument is so weak cus why the fuck are you downplaying rape in a fiction as if it's not a demoralizing act.

So all you've proven is that you literally can't use that empty, brain dead, head of yours to read. Illiteracy is something you can overcome through effort I wish you luck.

You need to work on your introduction in the beginning of your paragraph. Your topic needs to hook in the readers by starting with an engaging one. Your "fiction vs reality" argument was lacking since fiction CAN be inspired by reality. But I give your effort a proficient. You would've gotten an excellence if you didn't waste my time and just got to the point ! :D

Bro it's crazy you'd rather pretend to be a teacher right now then address the whole point of you forcing yourself to read that.
