i truly don't think people actually read the story and realized that the story trope is getting comfortable with love and attachment within relationships.
mc has trauma behind why he is trying to detach when he feels loved cause he's always been alone and abandoned and used by his father that is shown
ml is basically trying to find and accept the trauma behind him essentially being an experiment and also understand the feeling of love and what its like to love
there is going to be some sort of emotional clashing trying to compromise so i genuinely don't see why people are saying the ml deserves to be hurt. ofc what they both chose aren't healthy responses but its nothing new or surprising ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
its always the red head male characters that really give me the ick no matter the series
