Based on what I understand, in novel as a child, Ain is such an angel and innocent and I think he didn’t fought back when the duchess bullied him and when he grew up he started to be a villain and killed the duchess. So, maybe that’s the reason why she doesn’t know Ain’s other side. And as of the duke, I think it’s bcos in the novel, the duke neglected his own child that’s why she’s reacting to him like that too. Not to mention the thing she saw. I mean the bloody scene.
