I like my eReader for travel for the convenience but for some books, particularly manga, I prefer hard copies.

Same as Mental Nails, although I only ever collect hard copies of manga if the art dazzles me.

So you both think that having a hard copy for manga is better? Without taking in account that you are buying it because you totally loved it and that's why you want to own a copy... Is more like you want to keep reading it and that's why you bought it

Yup. It's always so much easier to read, in my experience, in physical form rather than electronically. On an eReader the scrolling and enlarging takes away from the experience of enjoying manga-- at least for me. :)

With some considerable reservation, actually. In fact, I would say for the most part, it isn't better. The trouble with buying electronic anything is that the technology is obsolete within 5-10 years. That means the platform is useless and anything which depends on it is bye-bye. So it's not a viable venue for collections. If there is a breathtaking recording of a performance I figure I will want to watch or hear when I'm in my dotage, I want a hard copy, some sort of tape, album or disc. If there is a photograph or work of art which never ceases to thrill or inspire me, I want it printed and framed and available to hang on a wall. If there is a story or series of discussions that ... etc.. Honestly, there aren't very many manga that fit into that framework, because they are designed, written and published purely for light thrills and entertainment, which is okay. Nothing wrong with a bit of joy and pleasure, but I look for healing and inspiration from a lasting work. So bear that in mind if you're putting money into print. There are very few manga I've compiled even on my favourites list that would make it into a physical collections. That's because I would end up buried under books if I kept everything.

Well that is really interesting way of seeing things. Yes, in fact if one buys every little thing to just "have it" it will be a waste of money and it will lose its value. I do see your point. But in my case thing is that the manga hasn't being dropped but it takes seriously too long to translate or have updates... And I really want to end reading the story. I don't like to stay hung up on something I already know that has come to a closure. That's why I'm trying to find which way is more convenient for me to own the manga. Physically or electronically.

In that case, if you love the manga so much that you want to collect it, go for a book. If it's just to keep on top of the story, go electronic.

Thank you, and I was the person that originally said I felt similar to you in terms of viewing platforms. Books are easier to read, if that's the main consideration.

There are 14 volumes and 60 chapters in total. The current chapter out is 41 from volume 11.
