I think recessive alpha/omega means people with weaker pheromones? Like a dominant alpha pheromones will have much more of an effect than recessive alphas and the same goes for omegas as well. Still not sure though it depends on the story and the kind of omegaverse the author is going with.
It's just a way of dividing them. Like from alpha/beta/omega to alpha dom/alpha rec/beta/omega dom/omega rec. Alpha rec and omega doms are more similar to betas. So in society alpha doms are like in the highest and omega rec is the lowest. Also prob based more on the pheromones.
